Everyone has a dark cloud hanging over them, one time or another. Today I tried my best to smile, even though folks kept asking "are you ok?" On Thursday my mother suffered a mild stroke and today she turned 81. It has been a challenging couple of day's, juggling work when my mind is on my mother. Being in different countries makes it even more difficult. Phone calls differ from her struggling to to string a sentence together, to the crying, feeling alone and scared to her trying to sound fine and positive. I never know what the the phone call is going to sound like. Constantly checking my phone. Monday she will have more tests to see what is going on and why she keeps passing out. Feeling very reluctant to do this post because it is so personal but dealing with so many customers over the last few day's probably left thinking I looked miserable or ungrateful. Please know we are grateful for your donations and support and I do apologize for not being focused. Thank you to my friends and the volunteers who who have been so supportive, giving me space when I needed it, understanding that I start a conversation then forget what I was talking about. All will be well and I will try harder to be present in your company. Thank you for understanding. I have to keep on posting positive things, funny thing's to keep the page going for the supporters even if it is not what I am feeling. Keep warm, be safe and for those with a cloud hanging over their head, know that the sun will shine again.

Today was freezing, the dogs wearing double jackets and the humans wearing half their wardrobe to keep warm. A huge thank you to everyone who came out today, it was a successful day for the animals and thank you to everyone for all your donations that help raise funds in the charity shop, the jumble sales and auctions. We appreciate all that you do.

Please don't forget we are selling chocolate Bar one cake in the garden behind the charity shop. Well socialized dogs on a leash are welcome.
