Sea to drinking water 💦
MIT researchers have developed a solar-powered desalination system that turns seawater into drinking water without using electricity. This innovation is a major leap for water-scarce regions.
The system uses sunlight to create v***r, which is then condensed into pure drinking water. Unlike conventional desalination plants that require large amounts of electricity and emit carbon dioxide, this design is simple, portable, and emission-free.
Field trials have shown the device can produce several liters of clean water per day at extremely low cost, making it suitable for rural villages, disaster relief, and off-grid communities. Scaling it up could provide sustainable drinking water for millions.
By combining clean energy with water purification, this project shows how technology can solve two of humanity’s most pressing challenges — climate change and water scarcity — at the same time.
