Today we celebrate Helen Keller Day and honor the woman whose challenge to Lions in 1925 sparked a global movement to protect and restore sight.

When Helen Keller called on Lions to become "Knights of the Blind in the Crusade Against Darkness", Lions accepted that challenge, and more than 100 years later, we continue to answer that call through vision-related projects and service in communities around the world.

The Beacon Bay Lions Club is proud to have handed over R1,701.00 to CHOC Eastern Cape (East London) — funds raised during our Big Walk for Young Warriors. What an incredible day we had at our Big Walk for Young Warriors!
Despite the weather not being in our favour, the spirit of our community shone through. The turnout was absolutely inspiring for a first-time event, and the energy on the day reminded us exactly why we serve.
A heartfelt thank you to St. Joseph’s Preparatory & College for opening your grounds to us and for the incredible support from your staff and learners. Without your partnership and effort, this event would not have been possible.
Thank you to CHOC for being present and standing with us in support of this important cause. Your presence added great value to the day.
And to every single entrant who showed up, even with grey skies overhead, thank you. Your willingness to come out, walk, and support young warriors speaks volumes.
