Supporting your child’s growth starts with understanding their Scouting journey. ⚜🌱

“How we Scout” is a practical guide created for parents to help you better understand what Scouting is, how it works, and the important role you play along the way.

Through adventure, challenge, and teamwork, Scouting helps young people grow into confident, capable individuals. Scouting children and youth are guided by dedicated adult volunteers—known as Scouters—who generously give their time, skills, and energy to support the development your child. And with the right support from home, that growth becomes even more meaningful.

Youth Forum was an amazing experience.
I had the privilege to go on the first ever Youth Forum in the Eastern Cape South region, and had the honour of breaking the flag at the opening parade.
We did a variety of different activities, some which included writing and brain power, and others which were more practical.
My favourite activity was when we went to another farm and did an obstacle course. At the obstacle course we climbed up a tunnel to get to a wooden platform then climbed over barrels and slid down a rope, another part was climbing up cross-beams while carrying a barrel called Miss South Africa, we were not allowed to drop the barrel or we would have to run. We also crawled through tunnels in the ground and saw a dome that looked like it came straight out of a Jurassic Park movie.
The food was delicious and even though I am vegan, I was catered for and my food was absolutely scrumptious. I made many new friends and hope many more people want to go to this Forum.
I truly had a wonderful experience.

Every child deserves to belong. 💙 Every child deserves Scouting.💜

As parents, we all wonder whether our children will find their place. A space where they are accepted, supported, and able to thrive. For families of autistic and neurodivergent children, that question carries even deeper meaning.

At SCOUTS South Africa, inclusion isn’t just an idea. It’s part of who we are. Through shared experiences, supportive peer groups, and values-driven programmes, young people are given the space to grow in their own way, at their own pace.

This , we celebrate the strength of diversity and reaffirm a simple truth: every child belongs in Scouting. ⚜

A heartfelt thank you to an incredible young changemaker 💙

Your kindness, dedication, and compassion for our animals do not go unnoticed — we are so grateful for the time, effort, and love you poured into this initiative.

A special thank you as well to Nahoon Spar for kindly allowing Aimee to host her campaign on your premises. Your support plays a vital role in helping us care for animals in need.
