PLTC (NMB South) 2026

Me and my APL recently had the honour of representing 1st Vincent Scout Troop and all the East London troops in PE for an amazing PLTC. It was a really fun and challenging course. I enjoyed every single moment and learnt so much.
Mostly the course was about camp development, but we did various sessions on leadership, hiking logbooks, planning for a camp, etc.

The campsite development truly tested my knowledge of pioneering structures, but overall it gave us a huge sense of achievement to have built an entire campsite, equipped with a dining table, prep table, flagpole, fire pit, perimeter fence and a gateway, all from just some staves and ropes.

We did a very interesting short hike too. It mostly consisted of standing at forks in the path, "confused" as where to go (not lost, a scout is never lost;) and taking notes for our hiking logbooks. But my patrol managed to make it a very fun and memorable experience.

The camp as a whole was extremely fun and I have many memorable memories and learnt lots about scouting, leadership, and myself. The thing that made it though, was the people. It was a privilege to have such a welcoming and friendly bunch of scouts on that camp and I hope, in the future, our troops will continue to interact as a region.
