WHEN A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER, CHANGE BECOMES POSSIBLE

There is something extremely powerful when communities come together, take responsibility for their communities and actively work to influence positive initiatives that prevent crime and improve the lives of residents.

Sometimes, the things we believe are impossible to achieve become possible when a community stands together, speaks with one voice and works collaboratively with the right stakeholders.

It is therefore with great pride that we announce that the Quigney Satellite Police Office is now fully operational from 08:00 to 16:00 everyday.

Residents can once again access essential police services closer to home, including opening cases, making statements, certifying documents and accessing other services. This is one of the many services that the Quigney community asked us to advocate for and revive.

The reopening and operationalisation of this office is more than just the restoration of a service. It is proof that when communities raise legitimate concerns, engage constructively and work together with institutions, meaningful change can happen.

We would like to sincerely thank the KuGompo Police Station Management for embracing this collaborative initiative, listening to the community and working with us to make this possible.

This is what community participation looks like.
This is what partnership can achieve.
This is what happens when a community refuses to give up.

Together, we can continue to build safer, stronger and more responsive communities.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: QRPRA ENGAGEMENT WITH BUFFALO CITY METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY

The Quigney Ratepayers and Residents Association (QRPRA) had the opportunity to engage with the executive management of the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality on a number of service delivery concerns raised by the community.

The engagement was chaired by the General Manager for Municipal Health Services Mr Madikizela, with the support of the Head of the Legal Department Mr Handi

Among the key issues discussed were dilapidated and hijacked buildings, vandalism and theft of water meters, illegal car wash operations, scrapyards, prostitution, refuse collection, and business zoning and property compliance.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all government stakeholders who participated, and most importantly, to the community members and local businesses who took the time to join us today.

We believe these collaborative efforts will strengthen our collective work to ensure that all community members feel safe and take responsibility for their own communities.

It truly warms my heart to hear such positive feedback from our community members. Despite the daily challenges we face, it is clear that we are making a meaningful impact.

The time has come for us to take ownership of our surroundings and recognize that the safety of ourselves and our neighbours rests in our hands.

My sincere thanks to our Executive Team, Team O, and most importantly to our community members. Without your support, none of this would be possible.

Our youth from God Adventure Church and Imonti School of Ministries has been working tirelessly to restore the mosaic tiles at Heroes Park, which has been left into ruins for far too long.

For the past two years, we have been committed to maintaining Heroes Park in an effort to preserve the few remaining tourist attractions in our area. It has not been an easy journey. However, we refuse to allow Quigney to fall into further ruin while so many young people in the hospitality industry continue to depend on it for their livelihoods.

It is truly inspiring to witness young people stepping forward with passion, contributing positively, and showcasing their innovation and creativity through this initiative.
We are deeply grateful for this remarkable act of service and community pride.
