Rachel's Wishes Rachel's Wishes is a non-profit organisation dedicated to changing children's lives for the better. No diagnoses were ever determined.

Rachel’s Wishes is a non-profit organisation that believes in changing children’s lives for the better. It was started in memory of Christine Adcock's youngest daughter, Rachel Catherine Adcock, who died unexpectedly, aged only 3 years, on 5th March, 1996. Rachel’s love of life and her compassion for others, led the Adcock family to establish Rachel’s Wishes in her memory in order to help to bring joy and opportunities to children in need. By raising funds for different individuals, organisations and children’s charities, Rachel’s Wishes will continue to improve children’s lives for the better and keep Rachel’s legacy alive.

The countdown has begun to the Paper Boss charity golf day in conjunction with Rachel’s Wishes. The best part of a charity golf day is seeing first hand the difference it makes in the lives of children. We are blessed to have the support of so many amazing individuals and organisations. Thank you Vodacom Cape Gate for being one of them

Thank you so much Alani Nel Art & Design for this amazing donation. It was so nice to meet you and share what we do as a charity. Your artwork is going to be a great auction donation at our golf day on 6th November as we raise funds for Tiny Owls Baby Home.

It was also nice for you to see the start of our World Premi Day sorting and packing of our β€œBags of Love” that we will be handing out to hospitals on and around 18th November THANK YOU

We spent this weekend in Montagu visiting our good friend Carol Bruton, along with her husband they run a phenomenal charity called RAM - Rescue Among Many NPO 156-220 PBO S18a. I’ve been involved in charity work for 28 years but Carol and Steve leave me standing with the work they do feeding 3100 EACH WEEK, wind, rain, snow they are there. They operate out of Club JR building which they wanted to upgrade. Our 2025 golf day enabled us to donate funds to help them get this started. You can see the start and finished product. They were also able to get an inverter to help with electricity bills, shelves to stack their food and more. This is why we do what we do and when you go to see for yourself your heart is full. A huge thank you to Sasha Schagen Hitchcock for the dining room
suite which looks perfect. Want to get involved just let me know

A huge thank you to our amazing friend of Rachel's Wishes, Shafiek Martin for going above and beyond to hand-deliver cereal, food, and clothing to children in the Cape Flats area! πŸŒΎπŸ‘•

The cereal was generously donated by Juan from Tiny Owls Baby Home thank you for your kindness in helping us feed hungry tummies! πŸ₯£

πŸ’› Thank You, Skye's Wooden Spoon! πŸ’›

We are so touched to have received a heartfelt thank you from Skye's Wooden Spoon and their Little Footprints Educare (ECD) programme, based in Vosho, Khayelitsha!

Rachel's Wishes was proud to donate baby items and bookcases to support their ECD and Safecare facilities β€” helping create safe, loving, and nurturing spaces for the little ones in their care. 🐴🎈

Skye's Wooden Spoon does incredible work across Tafelsig, Eastridge, and Khayelitsha β€” from feeding hundreds of children and youth each week, to giving vulnerable children a safe space through their Safecare programme, to keeping teens off the streets with their afterschool initiatives. Their dedication to these communities is truly inspiring, and we're honoured to play a small part in their mission.

✨ Together, we give every child hope, care, and a brighter future. ✨

Thank you for making a difference β€” and thank YOU to everyone who supports Rachel's Wishes, because it's your generosity that makes moments like this possible! πŸ’•

❀️ A Community That Shows Up
We don’t only collect small items β€” when we were offered furniture, we said YES please, not knowing the size of the blessing that was coming our way. Thanks to an exceptionally generous gentleman, we received a bed, rug, two coffee tables, bedding, a club chair, couch, kitchenware, microwave, TV and many smaller items.
These gifts were shared between Tygerberg Hospice and Kids‑Can, bringing comfort, dignity and hope to families who need it most. The remaining items, along with our other donations, were passed on to an oTiny Owls Baby Homeing Sir Lowry’s Pass and to Father Earl in Paarl.
A special thank you to Owls Baby Home for donating more cereal, we were able to share it with every group we supported this time.
Every act of kindness creates a ripple. Every donation, big or small changes someone’s day, someone’s home, someone’s life. As we continue our work, we would be so grateful for more hearts and hands to join us. If you have items you no longer need, please consider donating them. We promise they will go exactly where they are needed most.
Together, we make hope visible. ❀️
