Sprouting Minds Organization Sprouting Minds Organization has its fingers in a few pies. Nutrition and Education is very important to us. We work in the area of Durbanville and Fisantekraal.

Our vision states it: "Nourish the Child, nourish the Nation". Sprouting Minds Organization is currently involved in a few places. We believe nutrition and education go hand in hand. Therefore, we support a school to provide nutrition to grade R-3 children in great need of it. We plant vegetable gardens wherever we can to help create a more sustainable way of food security. We support a soup kitchen and we have a mobile library to encourage children to read. Knowledge is power.

Our Story

Sprouting Minds Organization is currently involved with a school in Durbanville, South Africa. With the help of the teachers we identify children who do not eat at home and then we provide them with a nutritious breakfast and snack so that their tummies can be filled. This will help them with their brain development as good nutrition and brain development goes hand in hand. With a full tummy they then have the energy and focus needed to listen to their teacher and learn. This will help them to achieve better academically and ultimately in life. Our aim is to help the identified children from grade R - 3.

We also plant vegetable gardens where we can. We want to help people get a sustainable source of nutrition in some way. Working in the garden also helps with mental health and to pick the produce is just an awesome experience and then you get to eat it too!
