🌱 LIV Cape Town is calling all those with green fingers! 👀

If you have a love for gardening and some spare time on your hands to volunteer, we would love to welcome you on site every to share your knowledge and care in our beautiful vegetable garden.

Our garden is a sacred space for our children - not only for growing vegetables and fruit, but also a place used for therapy, sensory play, and learning through nature. Your skills could help this space continue to grow and flourish.

This story doesn’t end where it starts…

What you see at the start of this video is real. Fisantekraal is a community that carries a lot of weight.

Poverty, instability, and the kind of hardship that gets passed down through generations when nothing interrupts it.

But something is interrupting it.

LIV is an Early Childhood Development Centre in Fisantekraal built around a simple but radical belief. That if you get to a child early enough, if you meet their deepest needs in the most critical years of their development, you can change the trajectory of their entire life.

So every morning we open our doors to 116 preschool aged children. We feed them a warm nutritious meal because we know a hungry child cannot learn. We create a classroom environment rooted in trauma informed care because we know a dysregulated child cannot grow. We use therapeutic tools like sensory play and music because we know healing has to happen in the body before it can happen in the mind.

And we do all of this because we believe every single child was made on purpose.

Loved by a God who saw them before anyone else did. Worthy of a childhood they will never need to recover from 💛
