NTENGA FOUNDATION CLEAN WATER CAMPAIGN | DRILLING UNDERWAY!

Our team is back in Mfekayi, Mtubatuba, where drilling of the borehole at Ngotweni Primary School has officially begun.

This is a community where families have depended on rainwater and river water for survival, and tragically, lives have been lost while trying to collect water from the river.

Today, we are one step closer to changing that story. The borehole will provide clean water to both the school and the surrounding community.

To the 10,000 runners who participated in the Ntenga Foundation Race, this is what your participation is making possible. Every step you took is helping restore hope and dignity to communities in need.

We are one step closer to bringing clean water to Mfekayi in Mtubatuba!

Our team returned to the community with surveyors to meet the principal and School Governing Body of Mfekayi Primary School, where we plan to drill a borehole that will serve both the school and the surrounding community.

This community relies on rainwater and river water for survival. Heartbreakingly, lives have been lost as people drowned while trying to collect water from the river.

We have some good news! Our surveyors have located groundwater. In the next few days, our team will return to begin drilling.

NTENGA FOUNDATION CLEAN WATER CAMPAIGN

After receiving an overwhelming number of applications from communities in need of clean water, we have started responding to their requests.

Today, we visited Mfekayi in Mtubatuba, a community that reached out to the Ntenga Foundation requesting assistance with a borehole.

This community relies on rainwater and river water for survival. Heartbreakingly, we learned that almost every year, lives are lost as people drown while trying to collect water from the river.

We spent time with community members, listened to their stories and visited two local schools to assess where we can install a borehole that will serve both the schools and the surrounding community.

On the 24th of September, 10,000 runners ran the Ntenga Foundation Race for a purpose. Now the work begins.

Ntenga Foundation is looking for communities across KwaZulu-Natal that have never had access to clean water and have a school within the community.
