R100 MILLION. LET’S MAKE IT COUNT. 🇿🇦
YIBSA welcomes the NYDA–NEF National Youth Fund.
But young people don't need promises — we need capital, markets and economic power.
Fund the entrepreneurs. Build the businesses. Create the jobs.
More job makers. Less job seekers.

Youth in Business South Africa extends its warmest wishes to its Founder and Former Secretary General, Bright M Hlongwane - Mbhele, as he prepares to travel to London to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust (QECT) 100 Young Leaders Award 2026. 🏆

From helping build YIBSA into a platform for young entrepreneurs, to representing South African youth on an international stage this is a proud full-circle moment.

Your journey is a reminder that young South Africans can build locally, lead boldly and make an impact globally.

Congratulations, Mthembeni. Go represent us well. 🇿🇦🌍

📢 MEDIA RELEASE | YIBSA MPUMALANGA

Youth funding must not only exist. It must be accessible.

Youth in Business South Africa (YIBSA) welcomes the Mpumalanga Office of the Premier’s commitment to reform future cycles of the Premier’s Youth Development Fund (PYDF) following our intervention on accessibility.

While our request to extend the 2026 application deadline was not granted, Government has acknowledged the barriers confronting young entrepreneurs and committed to advancing digital applications, stronger district-based support and structured engagement with youth organisations. Mpumalanga Media Statement.pdf

With 1,241 applications received, the demand is clear: young people are ready to build businesses, create jobs and participate meaningfully in the economy.

But opportunity cannot depend on your postcode, internet connection or ability to travel.

Geography must never become a barrier to economic opportunity.

YIBSA stands ready to work with the Mpumalanga Provincial Government to turn these commitments into measurable reforms. Our position remains clear: Government funding mechanisms must evolve at the same speed as the ambition of young South Africans. Mpumalanga Media Statement.pdf
