This past weekend in KwaZulu-Natal, the Roy Moodley Legacy Cup proved that football is more than a game—it’s a vehicle for hope, unity, and empowerment.

Driven by the AMC. Roy Moodley Foundation and sponsored directly to SAFA eThekwini, the tournament brought communities together through sport, purpose, and pride. SAFA eThekwini handled the tournament with professionalism, ensuring a smooth and impactful experience for all involved.

The Foundation went beyond the field—covering transport, security, mentorship programmes, and creating a vibrant, family-friendly environment that uplifted players and supporters alike.

⚔️ In a thrilling final, Clermont FC and Chatsworth United battled to a draw, sending the match into a dramatic penalty shootout. Chatsworth edged ahead 4–3, securing victory in front of roaring fans and proud community members.

📣 Roy Moodley Launches Legacy Cup with R1 Million Pledge! ⚽🇿🇦

Businessman and community leader Roy Moodley is giving back in a big way! Through the AMC Roy Moodley Foundation, led by CEO Maritza R. Benson, and in partnership with SAFA Ethekwini, the Roy Moodley Legacy Cup kicks off this weekend at HoyPark, Durban North.

Moodley has committed R1 million to support the tournament, with cash prizes for winning teams and daily transport support for Local Football Associations.

Maritza R. Benson, CEO of the Foundation, says:
“This isn’t just about football — it’s about opportunity, direction, and hope. We are proud to invest in the future of our youth through sport.”

Moodley adds, “If we don’t help our youth now, we risk losing them to the streets. Football saved many of us, and now it’s our turn to give back.”
