Big steps forward for our amazing crafters!

Yesterday at BATH Foundation NPC we gathered with the talented women from our shelter programme, ( some ladies not living at the shelter enjoy the program too), to share important information about the eThekwini Municipality’s call for informal traders market stalls.
We discussed application processes, requirements, and practical next steps — and we’re so proud of how engaged and excited everyone was.
These women have worked incredibly hard developing their craft skills, and we truly believe they are ready to take the next leap: moving from shelter to public market stalls and greater economic independence.
From creative hands in the shelter to proud stalls in our local markets — the journey continues!
We can’t wait to celebrate their first market days.

What a beautiful and productive day at the Craft Room!

We spent the morning baling yarn together. Hands busy, hearts full, turning colourful skeins into neat, ready to use balls while chatting and laughing.

Later, we held a meaningful group discussion about our “Why”. Each beneficiary shared their personal story, their hopes, and what they dream of achieving through our craft community.

The vulnerability, encouragement, and excitement in the room were truly inspiring. From learning new skills to building confidence, creating beautiful items, and finding a sense of belonging. The dreams being voiced today are powerful.

Grateful for every person who showed up, shared, and contributed. This is what community looks like. Who else finds therapy in yarn and good conversation?

Its been a busy day, two interventions in one day with Siphila Ngomusa, eThekwini Safer Cities, Fire Ministries Alliance and Fox Fire outreach motivational messages. Men from other shelters were here, because men need help and support too. 🙏🧡❤️💖
