NEW DELHI, INDIA,
October 20, 2008: His Holiness Sri Swami Vimalananda, 86, a senior monk of the Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, has been elected as the Chairman of the Divine Life Trust Society and ex-officio President of the Divine Life Society with effect from 28th September, 2008.

Through a message published in the October 2008 issue of The Divine Life, a monthly magazine published by the Divine Life Society, Sri Swami Vimalananda Ji conveyed his warm greetings to all and offered his prayers to Lord Viswanath, Sri Swami Sivannanda Ji Maharaj and Sri Swami Chidananda Ji Maharaj. He prayed for the welfare of all devotees, members and well wishers of the Society. “May the choicest blessings and benedictions of Satgurudev be upon one and all,” he stated. Swamiji explained that he seeks the good wishes of all devotees worldwide so that he may continue to serve the holy institution founded by Swami Sivananda.

Sri Swami Vimalananda was born to pious Brahmin parents in Chamarajanagar, near Mysore, Karnataka in the year 1932. As a spiritual aspirant he offered himself at the holy feet of Swami Sivananda in the year 1953. He served the Holy Master for almost 10 years. After Swami Sivananda attained mahasamadhi, Swamiji served under Sri Swami Chidananda as his personal attendant and secretary. He was initiated into the holy orders of Sannyasa on the Sacred Guru Purnima, 26th July, 1972. Swami was appointed as General Secretary of the Divine Life Society on 28th June 2004 and was serving the Society in that capacity till he was elected President...

The festival is scheduled to take place on Friday, 23 rd October 2026, starting at 2:30 PM. global truth of the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. SIVANANDA WORLD PEACE FOUNDATION MARKS INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY WITH SCHOOLS PROGRAMME FOR SOCIAL COHESION AND WELLNESS

Eniwe HighSchool, KwaZulu-Natal 21 September 2026 . The Sivananda World Peace Foundation, led by its President Prince Ishwar Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, hosted its International Peace Day programme focused on schools across KwaZulu-Natal.

The programme, held under the theme of Serve. Love. Be Good, Do Good, brought learners together for a day dedicated to social cohesion, peace, wellness and meditation for peace among students, with the aim of building a peaceful society amongst youngsters.

Activities included:
Meditation and breathwork for peace and stress management
Yoga for Students Unity in Diversity
Talks on moral regeneration, respect, and peaceful co-existence
Wellness and mindfulness sessions

Prince Ishwar Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, Royal Ambassador for Social Cohesion and Economic Development in the Zulu Kingdom, said the Foundation is committed to promote the teachings of Swami Sivananda and to promote peace through the Sivananda Peace Pillars initiative.

"When we teach a child to meditate, to breathe, and to live with respect for all faiths and cultures, we are planting the seed of a peaceful society. True peace starts in the classroom, with our youngsters," he said.

The Foundation continues its build-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga and its ongoing youth development, scholarship and community upliftment programmes in rural KZN.
