The KwaZulu-Natal Socity for the Blind was formed in 1919 and is situated near the city centre in Durban.For 94 years the Society has offered rehabilitation services to blind and partially sighted persons in KwaZulu-Natal.The Society has evolved into a dynamic,multi-faceted organisation with its focus today on improving rehabilitation,education,habilitation and employment opportunities for te blin

d community we serve.Our range of services include:an Eerly Childhood Development unit,a lifeskills programme.(navigation skills using a white cane)an optometric clinic,a residence for blind adults,a small business unit which trains weavers in basketry and business skills and we have recently opened our skills training centre offering computer training.Further training opportunities cover Skills for Daily Living,Braille and Music Lessons are to be offered in the near future Our Organisation was awarded`Proudly South African`status in 2003 and our BEE rating is level 4
