Zoë-Life Innovative Solutions was honoured to present on “Harm and Children in South Africa” to the University of University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

During the presentation, we shared how Zoë-Life's innovations—including KidzAlive®, YouThrive and Caregiver Connect—are helping children, adolescents and families navigate the effects of HIV, trauma, violence and mental health challenges through child-friendly, evidence-based approaches to care and support.

We are grateful to UKZN and NTNU for creating a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing, meaningful discussion and collaboration. Partnerships such as these strengthen our collective ability to develop solutions that help children survive, thrive and reach their full potential.

KidzAlive is a unique chronic care model for children living with HIV, TB and childhood trauma. By celebrating childhood and recognising the cognitive, legal and cultural barriers children face, it helps make healthcare more accessible and supports better treatment adherence.

We provide a comprehensive psycho-social package, which includes age-appropriate language, colourful characters, and play therapy tools and techniques.

You can support our work with a tax-deductible donation - see how just $2 (R35) can have a meaningful Impact here: https://www.zoe-life.org/donate 💚

South Africa has an estimated 150,000 children living with HIV, yet fewer than half are aware of their own status. Children who don’t know their diagnosis are far less likely to adhere to treatment, and most healthcare workers have no formal training in how to have these sensitive, life-changing conversations.

That’s why we invest in training healthcare workers, giving them the tools to support children and caregivers with confidence and care.

South Africa has nearly 8 million children being raised by grandparents, most of whom face financial hardship with almost no guidance or formal support.

We created the Grandparents SPARK (Supporting Positive Action for Resilient Kids) program for grandparents raising children living with HIV. It was designed to support the grandparents so they could improve the quality of caring for these children – grandparents thrive, children thrive.

You can be part of the solution: just $2 (~R35) enables one grandparent raising a vulnerable child to receive critical guidance and support. Donate here: https://www.zoe-life.org/donate?utm_source=Facebook&utm_campaign=2026_donation&utm_medium=organic_social 💚

What do you want to be when you grow up?

🩺 A doctor or healthcare worker?

✏️ A teacher, shop-owner, entrepreneur or community leader?

For many young people, career direction starts with access to guidance, encouragement and practical support.

A once-off donation of $25/R420 funds one learner’s career assessment and mentorship session through YouThrive Careers. This helps a young person understand their strengths, explore future pathways and take a clearer next step.

💚 Donate now to support a young person’s journey into a more resilient future: zoe-life.org/donate?utm_source=Facebook&utm_campaign=2026_donation&utm_medium=organic_social

YouThrive Careers is Zoë-Life’s career guidance and counselling programme for high school learners and young people who have not yet found their career pathway.

South Africa’s youth unemployment rate sits at an alarming 46%. For many young people, the challenge starts long before they enter the job market. They have never been given the opportunity to explore their strengths, understand their options, or see what is possible for their future.

Through career assessments, mentorship, and guided career exploration, YouThrive Careers helps young people build confidence, make informed subject and career choices, and take meaningful steps toward employment and economic participation.

Every young person deserves the chance to discover their potential and build a future they are proud of. Just $25 enables this opportunity for one young person.
