A Message of Gratitude to Sibaya Community Trust

Art Vision Academy extends our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Sibaya Community Trust for the generous donation of skills development equipment to our Academy.

This donation is far more than a contribution of equipment. It is an investment in people, an instrument of empowerment, and a powerful symbol of prosperity, innovation, opportunity and hope for our community.

The equipment will have a direct and lasting impact on the communities we serve by enabling young people, aspiring entrepreneurs and community members to gain practical, marketable skills. Through hands-on training in areas such as carpentry, welding, arts, music and other skills development programmes, beneficiaries will be better equipped to pursue employment, start small businesses, create products and services, and become economically active.

Most importantly, this initiative helps address some of the challenges facing our communities, including unemployment, poverty and limited access to skills and economic opportunities. By providing the tools needed to learn and create, we are helping individuals move from dependency to self-reliance and from potential to productivity.

The impact goes beyond the individual. A skilled person can support a family, create employment for others, contribute to the local economy and inspire the next generation. In this way, the donation has the potential to create a ripple effect that strengthens families and contributes to a more empowered, resilient and prosperous community.

We believe that when you give someone the right tools, you don’t simply give them a skill—you give them the opportunity to build a livelihood, create opportunities for others and shape a better future.

Thank you, Sibaya Community Trust, for believing in Art Vision Academy and, most importantly, for believing in the potential of our people.

Together, we are not only developing skills—we are developing people, creating opportunities, strengthening communities and building a future driven by empowerment, innovation and prosperity.

With sincere appreciation,
Art Vision Academy

Speaking at the handover of 2 x ablution blocks for male and female, Vivian Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Sibaya Community Trust said it was truly a privilege and an honour to be here today to officially hand over the new ablution facilities to West Park Special Needs School.

Today is about dignity and recognizing that every child, regardless of their physical, intellectual or developmental challenges, deserves access to facilities that are safe, accessible, comfortable and respectful of their needs, he added.

When Sibaya Community Trust learned of the challenges faced by the learners of this school, we understood that this was not simply an infrastructure project.

It was a humanitarian project, said Reddy.

We understood that for many of these children, something as basic as using a restroom could be difficult, uncomfortable and, at times, undignified.

No child should have to face that.

That is why the Trust was proud to sponsor the construction of two new ablution blocks, one for boys and one for girls.

If today's handover can make even a small difference in the daily lives of these remarkable young people, then we have achieved something meaningful, he added.

As I look around today, I see extraordinary courage said Reddy.

I see educators who dedicate their lives to nurturing children with special needs.

I see parents and caregivers who face challenges that many of us cannot fully comprehend.

And most importantly, I see learners who inspire us through their determination, resilience and ability to overcome obstacles every single day.

You remind us that disability does not define a person. Potential does.

Character does. Hope and love certainly does.

Sibaya Community Trust was established with a simple mission:

to uplift lives and create opportunities where they are needed most.

To date, the Trust has invested more than R280 million into projects that have touched the lives of countless people. Over 200 NPOS had benefited from our intervention.

We have built infrastructure, funded education, supported healthcare facilities, provided life-saving medical interventions, supplied food to vulnerable communities, assisted non-profit organizations, and responded to crises whenever and wherever help was needed.

Yet despite the scale of the work we have undertaken, we never lose sight of a simple truth:

Every project is ultimately about people.

Behind every intervention is a human being whose life can be changed.

That is why projects such as this one are so important.

The value of these facilities cannot be measured solely in financial terms.

Their true value lies in the confidence, comfort, independence and dignity they will give a child.

He expressed his sincere appreciation to the principal, staff, governing body and all stakeholders of West Park Special Needs School for the incredible work they do.

A special thanks to Jeshan Naidoo, the SGB Chairperson, for his passion and for bringing this project to Sibaya Community Trust.

To the learners:

Today belongs to you. These facilities were built with you in mind.

Never allow anyone to define your limits. Believe in yourselves.

Work hard and know that there are many people who believe in your future.

As we officially hand over these facilities today, let us remember that the measure of any society is found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.

May these facilities serve this school and its learners for many years to come, and may they stand as a lasting symbol of compassion, inclusion and dignity.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this project possible.

A special thanks to Construction For Africa and Richard Govender our architect for the great work and completing our projects timeously.

The Principal,
Gopal Premchund, Jeshan Naidoo, Chairperson of the SGB and Ms Msomi from the Department of Education all mentioned how impactful this partnership with Sibaya Community Trust is and its role in providing dignity to the Children living with various forms of disabilities

Jeshan Naidoo referred to Reddy as the father of the nation for the volumes of lives he has changed by his kind generosity in social upliftment.

Unsung Heroes in the Fight Against Society's Deepest Wounds

Every day, headlines remind us of the growing challenges facing our communities.

Gender-Based Violence continues to destroy families.

Children are subjected to unimaginable abuse.

Mental health struggles are pushing many into isolation, despair, and, tragically, su***de.

Abandoned children, broken homes, poverty, addiction, and violence have become harsh realities that many South Africans face daily.

While society often focuses on the statistics, there is another side to these stories—one that deserves recognition and celebration.

Behind every rescued child, every survivor who finds the courage to speak out, every woman who escapes an abusive relationship, and every person who chooses hope over despair, there are individuals and organisations working tirelessly in the shadows.

These are NPOs and social workers who answer distress calls at midnight.

These are the volunteers who spend weekends collecting food, clothing, and necessities for vulnerable families.

These are the counsellors who patiently help broken souls rebuild their lives.

These are the community leaders who refuse to remain silent in the face of injustice.

These are the activists who challenge harmful social norms and advocate for the protection of women and children.

And these are the countless ordinary citizens who perform extraordinary acts of kindness every single day.

Their work is often emotionally exhausting.

They witness pain that most people could never imagine.

They listen to stories of abuse, neglect, and suffering.

They comfort grieving families and stand beside survivors during their darkest moments.

Yet they continue to serve, driven by compassion and an unwavering belief that every life matters.

In a world where negativity often dominates the news cycle, these men and women remind us that humanity is still alive.

They are proof that kindness remains powerful, that courage still exists, and that hope can be found even in the most difficult circumstances.

Today, I wish to commend and honour those individuals whom I have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside—people who have dedicated their lives to protecting the vulnerable, empowering the voiceless, and creating safer communities.

Your contribution may not always be recognised.

Your sacrifices may often go unnoticed.

But the lives you have touched tell a different story.

Every child you have protected, every family you have helped rebuild, every survivor you have supported, and every life you have saved stands as a testament to your commitment and compassion.

You are not merely providing a service; you are restoring dignity, rebuilding hope, and changing the future.

As we confront the growing challenges of Gender-Based Violence, child abuse, abandonment, and su***de, let us also celebrate those who refuse to surrender to hopelessness.

Let us support their efforts, strengthen their organisations, and stand alongside them in the pursuit of a more caring and compassionate society.

For it is often said that heroes do not wear capes.

They walk among us quietly, carrying the burdens of others, healing broken hearts, and lighting candles in places of darkness.

To all those fighting these battles every day, thank you.
Your work matters.

Your sacrifice matters and most importantly, the lives you save matter.

Artvision Academy – Where Broken Dreams Find Colour Again

There are places in this world that simply teach skills… and then there are places that rebuild lives.

Artvision Academy is one of those rare places where hope is restored, where pain is transformed into purpose, and where forgotten youth discover the beauty hidden within themselves.

Walking through the doors of Artvision Academy is like stepping into a world alive with creativity.

The sound of music echoes through the halls, paint brushes dance across canvases, skilled hands shape beautiful woodwork, and young minds once clouded by despair begin to dream again.

Every corner of the academy tells a story of talent, healing, and transformation.

The youth at this academy are truly gifted.

Their talents stretch across many forms of art — from woodwork and painting to music, aesthetics, and various creative expressions that inspire everyone who encounters them.

Beyond the art itself lies something even more powerful: restored dignity.

Many of these young people once walked dangerous roads filled with drugs, alcohol, hopelessness, and brokenness.

Some were written off by society.

Some had lost faith in themselves.

Yet today, they stand proudly as artists, creators, musicians, and young leaders with purpose in their hearts.

At the centre of this incredible transformation stands Mack Kapia Dollvins — a man whose vision and compassion have changed the lives of volumes of youth.

Through patience, mentorship, discipline, and genuine love, he has become a guiding light for many who once believed they had no future.

He did not merely teach them art.
He taught them self-worth.

He pulled them out of darkness and transported them onto a path of righteousness, purpose, and hope.

Through his leadership, countless young people have exchanged addiction for ambition, despair for creativity, and destruction for destiny.

Artvision Academy is more than an institution.

It is a sanctuary.

It is proof that when society invests in its youth with love, mentorship, and opportunity, miracles can happen.

Every artwork created, every song performed, every crafted piece of woodwork carries within it a story of survival and rebirth.

Your impact cannot be measured only in paintings or performances.

It is measured in saved lives, restored families, and futures reborn.

Yours in service

Jane Pillay
