This week, our home has been filled with so many beautiful moments, and I thought it was only fitting to share a few of them! 🥹✨

Every day, our home has been blessed with volunteers of all ages who show up with willing hearts and hands ready to serve. From playing with and feeding our babies, sorting donations, washing windows and toys, making up cots, to collecting laundry, washing it, and returning it clean and beautifully folded — every little act of kindness makes a BIG difference! 🫶🏼

🧁 Two little hearts with a BIG impact!
Two incredible young children decided they wanted to support New Life Baby House. They hosted a bake sale and other little sales in their complex to raise money for our babies. They walked through our doors with an envelope filled with their hard-earned cash and hearts full of generosity. What a beautiful reminder that you are never too young to make a difference! 🤍

🎁 Celebrating a birthday by blessing babies!
One amazing lady decided that, instead of receiving birthday gifts for herself, she wanted to host a baby-shower-themed birthday party where everyone brought gifts for our babies. What a beautiful way to celebrate another year of life — by pouring love into the lives of others! 🍼💕

And the blessings don’t stop there! We have also been so grateful to share from our overflow, blessing other baby homes and crèches in our community with clothing and products. Because when we are blessed, we believe in being a blessing to others too. 🤝🏼

This is what community looks like. This is what love in action looks like. This is what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. ✨

So glad this little baby is safe 💕 thank you to all who were involved.

I woke up with a bit of adrenalin moving me through me. It’s now 03:30, and I’m sitting in my bedroom listening to the rain, thinking, What the heck actually happened tonight?

My day began slowly and the day unfolded with chores. Then, at 17:30, I answered a call from the crisis mom at New Life Baby House, first point of contact for an overwhelmed police officer. After that I was on a series of calls, piecing together the story. This one call led me into the heart of a community in crisis, to help a newborn who needed protection that could not wait for Monday.

By 19:00, I was waiting at the police station for another one of our crisis care mothers. She arrived, and off we went as the heavens opened with an insane downpour. With SAPS alongside us, we entered a difficult situation. Their support was amazing. Tonight ended up being a solid team effort of everyone working together.

My aim was to carry out the removal as quickly as possible and return on Monday, when people might be in a better place to talk.

When the blanket was opened, there was a two-week-old baby, so tiny and completely dependent on the adults around them for safety and care.

Two hours later, I was home. Mrs Bee took over, making sure the baby was fed and settled safely. You blink, and an ordinary evening can turn into something you never expected. I think I’m still trying to take in how quickly it all unfolded.

Mrs Bee, thank you for answering that call and saying yes, even though it brought your dinner preparation to a sudden stop. To your amazing family for always supporting the work you do for HOLAH.

On Monday, I’ll return to listen and work on a plan. Okie, I think I am ready to go back to sleep 🥱.

This Saturday, New Life Baby House was so incredibly blessed by Shania-Lee - Word & Breadwith a wonderful donation and ongoing partnership of Vitakidz porridge and Children’s Bibles for our precious babies. 🥣📖👶🏼

We are so grateful for your generosity and for thinking of our little ones. Every donation, big or small, makes such a meaningful difference in the lives of the babies in our care.

Baby L is sitting all by himself! What a joy it is to watch these little ones grow, learn, discover and reach new milestones right before our eyes. 🧸💕

Every little achievement feels like such a big celebration in our house, and we are absolutely loving every moment of it!

The wall has completely transformed the space, and our babies are already loving it! 💕 They have been enjoying looking at all the beautiful , fun details and exploring their new little space.
