YIA (youth inter-active) YIA (youth inter-active) is a not for profit entity by and for Youth of South Africa. We are all about community development.

Our key focus is Behavioral Change programs which covers from HIV, STIs, TB, SGBVF, Research and Advocacy. YIA is a youth club dealing with young people in the community in a more sociable, recreational and educational level

On the 15 October 2025, our Director Mr Nkosikhona Mpungose united at Umlazi-V Campus with Higher Education institutions stakeholders for the powerful movement under the theme “Shifting Social Norms – Understanding and Addressing GBV in the (PSET) Sector.”

Together, we raised awareness, fostered respect, and empowered our college community to take a stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.

The day was filled with learning, reflection, and inspiration as we continued building safer, more inclusive spaces where every voice is valued and every individual is treated with dignity.

Fish Bowl session hosted by Caprisa for Higher learning institutions. This was attended by MUT, DUT and UKZN peers with EThekwini Civil Society Forum our Director Mr Nkosikhona Mpungose in his capacity as the Chairperson of EThekwini Municipality CSF.

Topics of conversation were:
- Sugar Daddy Dating
- Unplanned teenage pregnancy
- S*x parties
- Drug- fuelled parties and Risky Behaviors

This allowed learners to speak up and speak out without any judgmental and our brilliant Pannelist directed the conversation to give recommendations that can inform campaigns and policies for our institutions especially by Higher Health SA, DOHE, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health to curve New HIV Infections, STIs and TB for the Adolescents and young people.
