On Sunday 7th June 2026, Childline South Africa will join Department of Social Development and various stakeholders for the closing ceremony of Child Protection Month. This is being held under the theme “Working together in ending violence against children”. The campaign focuses on strengthening the protection of children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, with a special emphasis on addressing the rising cases of sexual abuse and statutory r**e. Child Protection Month is commemorated annually to raise awareness of children's rights and safety, highlighting that protection is a 365-day responsibility. Childline South Africa supports the view that Child Protection Month should not be merely symbolic but It must reinforce the importance and urgency of sustained awareness and action.
We join the country in raising awareness in communities as part of this year campaign. Let us work together to promote and protect the rights of children.
