The Cape teams are back on the ground after the storm.

Clearing, sorting and getting straight back to work where it’s needed most.

This is the steady, daily work behind cleaner rivers.

The kind of work you only notice when it stops.

In the first quarter of this year, our Mangroves team removed 19,416kg of waste from this important river mouth environment.

Of that, 4,339kg was sent for recycling and 15,077kg was cleared to landfill.

It’s muddy boots, heavy bags, sorting, clearing and coming back again the next day.

A small team making a real difference where river, ocean and community meet.

Happy 100th birthday to Sir David Attenborough β€” someone who helped generations better understand the beauty, fragility and importance of the natural world.

Thank you for reminding people that protecting our oceans starts long before the coastline.

Your storytelling continues to inspire action around the world. 🌍

Hazendal boom, Black River β€” before and after.

Waste builds up here over just a few days.
If it’s not intercepted it moves on.

Our river wardens work daily to stop this waste before it reaches the ocean and impacts the life that depends on it, which includes us!

The ocean’s plastic problem starts upstream. So do we.

From rivers to coastlines, this is what it looks like to stop waste where it can still be contained, intercepted and removed β€” before it reaches the ocean.

What a morning.
49 volunteers joined us at Beachwood for Earth Day, removing 57 landfill bags and collecting 22 bags for recycling.

It was especially good to have young people from , .college on the beach with us.

And to our partners β€” thank you for helping make these Beach Jams possible. Your support helps turn a simple clean-up into something bigger: shared action for the coast.

We just cleaned the Langa canal β€” and the numbers speak for themselves.
34 people.
200 metres of river.
3 000 bags.
6 tonnes of waste.
Mattresses, textiles, and trash that never belonged in a waterway.
The river fills up again and again. So do we.
We proved it’s possible. Now we’re doing it repeatedly.
Cleaning buys time. Fixing the root cause is the real goal β€” and that work is underway. But these sites can’t be abandoned in the meantime.
We need more River Wardens and committed partners who show up consistently.
If this river matters to you, and you want to help keep it clean β€” not just clean it once β€” we want you on our team.
