GDT Mahatma Gandhi Salt March

GDT Mahatma Gandhi Salt March A MARCH WITH A PURPOSE - AN EVENT WHEN PEOPLE COME TOGETHER TO SHOW THEIR SOLIDARITY WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF UBUNTU, NON VIOLENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

This march celebrates the life of Mahatma Gandhi and Chief Albert Luthuli, both of who have been vocal in their support for the development of a
culture of nonviolence and ubuntu. On the 75th anniversary of this great march the world celebrated it with a commemorative march of their own. We in South Africa joined them but in 2005 we also observed the 50th anniversary of our Freedom Charter, and so

we had a double commemoration that of the Salt March as well as of the Freedom Charter, the life of Mahatma Gandhi and of Chief Albert Luthuli.
