An essential amenity for the ecosystem for Warwick - supporting taxi operators, traders, and commuters to manage public urination.
Yet, on Easter Sunday as part of EThekwini Municipality’s Vision 2030, AeT’s pissoir was removed. This raises questions about why this pissoir, deemed an ‘illegal structure’, was destroyed rather than being redeployed or granted permission to continual its vital function.

Progress in our ongoing public urination prevention project. Equity in action.Inspired by the success of our street pissoirs for males, a request from traders prompted the design of a female pissoir prototype: essentially it’s a private space to use a container and safely dispose of the urine. More about what happens to the collected urine another time. Currently the social facilitation process, which is vital to being able to put the prototype on the street for testing, is underway.
