The Centre for Social Entrepreneurship is a business incubator that was established at the Durban University of Technology to assist people who want to start their own business. The primary purpose of the establishment of the CSE is to address key socio-economic challenges such as high levels of unemployment, inequality and poverty in KwaZulu-Natal. Vision
Igniting social entrepreneurship using innovative strategies in order to address socio-economic challenges and create a fair and just society. Mission
To commit to developing and promoting sustainable social entrepreneurship through mentorship and strategic partnerships with industry, Government, Community and Educational Institutions. Objectives
Developing social entrepreneurship within communities through mentorship and other innovative strategies. Promoting the creation of early stage youth owned enterprises amongst student community.

In collaboration with the DUT Faculty of Accounting & Informatics, our entrepreneurs gained practical insights into taxation, record keeping, risk management and financial management, strengthening the skills they need to make informed decisions and build sustainable businesses.

Our Nails Empowerment Training Programme has officially come to an end, and what a journey it has been!

Over two weeks, 20 women gained practical nail technician skills, business knowledge and the confidence to take their businesses to market. They are leaving with registered businesses, unique brands and logos, and the skills to turn their talent into income.

A special thank you to DUT alumna Nomali Buthelezi, founder of Melokuhle Creationz, for sharing her expertise, entrepreneurial journey and practical business insights with the participants.

From skills to brands, and from brands to businesses, these women are ready to make their mark! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’œ

The Centreโ€™s Nails Empowerment Training Programme is underway, equipping 20 women with practical skills to become nail technicians and entrepreneurs.

The training is facilitated by DUT alumna Nomali Buthelezi, a Horticulture graduate and founder of Melokuhle Creationz. Having built her own business from the ground up, Nomali is now sharing her technical expertise, entrepreneurial journey and practical business insights with the participants.

With every nail set, skill mastered and business lesson shared, these women are taking a step closer to becoming nail technicians and entrepreneurs, turning skillsinto opportunities and opportunities into businesses. ๐ŸŒธโœจ
