PeacePlayers South Africa PeacePlayers International is an international non-profit that uses sport to unite, educate and inspire young people in divided communities.

Almost 30 years after the end of Apartheid, a system of institutional racial segregation instituted by the white minority, South Africa still feels its effects: Racial divides, tensions and inequities limit resources and opportunities for the majority of citizens, leading to resentment, anger and even violence. Inequity and lack of opportunities are also rooted in other challenges, such as gender-

based violence, HIV/AIDS and teenage pregnancy. PeacePlayers South Africa (PP-SA) was established in 2001 to offer vital athletic, educational and social opportunities to South Africa’s youth. PP-SA unites youth from diverse and divided communities, through sustained sports-based programming led by committed local coaches and grounded in leadership development and conflict transformation.

GAME ON! 🏀

It’s that time of the year again, and this one is going to be one you WON‘T FORGET!

PeacePlayers South Africa is delighted to invite you to the 42nd City-Wide Tournament (CWT), on Saturday the 13th of June 2026, from 07:00-16:00 at Hoy Park Sports Grounds in Durban, South Africa.

This bi-annual event is held in June and October. CWT brings together 500+ Primary and High School participants, 100 Volunteers, and Coaches from 22 schools that participate in our weekly core programmes.

At this CWT, youth will play in mixed, co-ed teams with players from different schools throughout the day to further facilitate interaction while PROMOTING GENDER EQUITY & SOCIAL COHESION through competitive games of basketball. Join us and witness how we use the power of sport to unite, educate, and inspire youth from diverse backgrounds!

The three day Leadership Development Program (LDP) Camp continues to be a powerful catalyst for growth and shaping young leaders through sport🏀

Recently, they attended a youth camp at Infinite Adventures. This camp aimed to build stronger bonds through team building activities, share the cultural challenges youth face in South Africa, embrace the importance of collaboration, and create a safe space for youth to coexist & thrive through meaningful conversations.

This was more than a camp, but a space where confidence is built, friendships are forged, and life experiences are shared while doing activities with peers and creating lasting memories. The participants left feeling inspired, and connected and we hope this will add great value in their lives.
