the Bluff's Community Oriented Policing (COP) fights crime in our community. We do high visibility patrols day and night to deter criminals from operating here. COP also has a reaction unit, crime prevention unit, high visibility unit, bike unit and Street COP unit
Tactical and Blue supply armed back up to COP members on patrol. Tactical security Services, Blue Security and Oxfords are COP's ancho
r sponsors with many other businesses and residents also helping out. The COP members are dedicated residents that are passionate about their suburb and give up their own spare time to keep the suburb free of criminals. Since its inception COP has grown in leaps and bounds and is now a large force of citizens patrolling the suburb, reacting to emergencies and communicating with residents. Patrols are carried out at night, early hours of the morning and during the day. Some COP members patrol around schools when the children are going to or leaving school to ensure their safety after a number of pupils and parents were attacked. At some schools there had been a continuous attacks every month but since COP members have been patrolling at those schools there have been no attacks. COP has become invaluable to fighting crime on the Bluff and a number of areas have seen a drastic drop in crime where COP's are operating. Residents have the right to live in safety but we have to take some of the responsibility for our own safety. We can, with enough support, make the Bluff one of the safest suburbs in the country. COP has already proved this. The first official patrol rolled out at 2am on 6th June 2009
