In 2022, I was searching for someone who shared the same values and views as I did — someone willing to stand up and fight for what is right.
I was looking for a leader who would fight for the return of the death penalty, stand up for women’s justice and empowerment, speak out boldly against gender-based violence, and, above all, treat women with the dignity, respect and fairness they deserve.
I found all of that in Dr Jonathan Annipen.
What I discovered was not only a man who speaks about change, but a leader who puts his heart and soul into serving his community. His dedication to service delivery is just one part of a much bigger commitment to making a difference.
He stood up for women when many other political leaders were not brave enough to do so. He gave women a voice, stood beside them and made it clear that their concerns matter.
But his leadership goes even further. He has empowered his volunteers, supported them, cared for them and treated them with love and respect. He has shown them that their voices matter and that they have the power to be heard.
For me, true leadership is not about a title. It is about courage, compassion, standing up for others and serving people with sincerity.
That is what I have seen in Dr Jonathan Annipen — a leader who doesn't simply talk about change, but has the courage to stand up and make his voice heard.
