📢 CALLING ALL POLITICAL PARTIES CONTESTING WARD 37 – NEWLANDS WEST
The Newlands West Rate Payers Association would like to invite all political parties contesting Ward 37 to participate in a live 1 on 1 podcast/interview with us.
Our goal is simple: to help residents make an informed decision at the polls this November.
We will also give residents an opportunity to submit questions via WhatsApp or call us, which we will put to the candidates during the podcast.
Some of the questions we intend asking include:
🔹 What are the biggest issues currently facing Ward 37, and how do you plan to address them?
🔹 Do you understand the role of technology in managing a modern ward, and how would you use technology to improve service delivery and communication?
🔹 How often will you hold community meetings?
🔹 Will you personally meet with residents to assist in resolving community issues?
🔹 How well versed are you in municipal processes, complaints and escalation procedures?
🔹 How familiar are you with eThekwini Municipality's bylaws and policies?
🔹 How will you hold municipal departments accountable when residents' issues are not resolved?
🔹 What mechanisms will you put in place to communicate progress to residents?
🔹 If the community loses confidence in you and calls for your resignation, how would you respond?
🔹 And finally: Why should the residents of Ward 37 vote for you and your party?
These are only some of the questions we will be asking.
We want to give every political party contesting Ward 37 an equal opportunity to present their plans, answer residents' questions and explain what they intend to do differently.
No political party will be endorsed by the Newlands West Rate Payers Association.
Our responsibility is to the residents of Ward 37.
You ask the questions.
They provide the answers.
You decide at the polls.
