NPO SPOTLIGHT | THE DSK GROUP

Born from a community’s need, the DSK Group has spent over 15 years supporting survivors of gender-based violence on KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast.

Founded in October 2010 by the late Mrs Rosy Chettier, their organisation was built on a compassionate vision: every survivor deserves a safe place, a listening ear and a pathway to a new life.

Through their six-stage empowerment framework and the dedication of over 50 volunteers, they have supported more than 1,193 individuals and families across KZN, reporting a 40% measurable improvement in survivor outcomes.

The Sibaya Community Trust shines a spotlight on their commitment to restoring dignity, inspiring hope and helping survivors rebuild their lives. 💜

Looking Back

Little hearts, brighter futures. ❤️

Sibaya Community Trust proudly supported the Children’s Cardiac Foundation of Africa, a Lenmed initiative that helped 35 children receive life-changing heart surgery.

Among them were five-year-old Alwande and six-year-old Luthandom, whose surgeries brought renewed hope to their families.

Deputy Minister Mmapaseka Steve Letsike visited Merewent Cheshire Home, where she engaged with residents, staff and members of the organisation’s Board.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister gained first-hand insight into the home’s achievements, essential services and current needs. She also commended the Board and staff for their dedication to providing people living with disabilities with quality care, dignity and a strong sense of belonging.

The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, the private sector, trusts, non-profit organisations and communities in strengthening support for vulnerable members of society.

Together, meaningful partnerships can help Merewent Cheshire Home continue its vital work and create lasting hope for its residents.
