Over the weekend, we were captivated by . His running adventure started with a humble 5K at a local park, and from that moment, he was hooked. The road has become his personal diary, where every step writes a new chapter and every mile mirrors his journey of self-discovery. ✨

This year, he achieved a remarkable time of 3 hours and 15 minutes in his first marathon and later completed the legendary Comrades Marathon in 9 hours and 34 minutes—proof of his endurance and passion for the sport. For Taariq, running is more than just a pastime; it’s part of his identity.

On November 20th, Taariq Stokes and 11 others embarked on an incredible 704 km journey from Walkerville to Moses Mabhida Stadium. Their extraordinary feat is a testament to their strength and commitment to a cause that impacts countless lives.

Join .official in the incredible journey to raise awareness for men’s mental health. Founded in 2023 by a group of passionate Johannesburg men, this organization is dedicated to breaking the stigma around men’s mental health through road running. Their mission is to support those silently struggling, empower men with well-being tools, and train first responders.

Last year, a dedicated team of 8 runners, along with 5 crew members and a medic, completed an incredible 567 km journey from Heilbron to Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in just 56 hours.

This year, they aim to raise R50,000 to support men’s mental health by:

▫️Donating to a mental health organization
▫️Establishing community workshops
▫️Training first responders to provide immediate support

You’ve shown us what true heroism looks like. More than just athletes, you’ve become beacons of hope, illuminating a path towards a better future. By dedicating yourselves to this vital cause and running these 704 km, you’ve not only inspired us but also made a tangible difference in countless lives. ✨

With gratitude and respect,
The Adams Foundation

This November, let’s break the silence and stigma surrounding men’s mental health. It’s a crucial step towards creating a safe and supportive workplace environment. ✨

While June and November are popular months for men’s mental health awareness, the men in your life need your support year-round. Remember, there’s no health without mental health.

Men’s Health Month aims to raise awareness of three key health issues:
🔸 Mental health and su***de prevention
🔸 Prostate cancer
🔸 Testicular cancer

Let’s encourage men to prioritize their health, have open conversations, and seek help when needed.

Why is this important?
🔹 Men often underreport mental health issues and avoid seeking support. The stigma surrounding men’s mental health prevents many from reaching out. Societal expectations can pressure men to hide their emotions and “man up.”

Mental health conditions are not a sign of weakness. Just like a physical injury, mental health issues require care and attention.

Let’s support each other. You are not alone. You are not weak. You deserve happiness and peace. 😊

October is Eczema Awareness Month. If you are a parent, you most definitely have heard of it, because this skin condition is very common among children.

Atopic dermatitis, or eczema, is a common skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide, including many South Africans. Characterized by dry, itchy, and inflamed skin that often flares up, eczema can significantly impact quality of life. While it can be particularly challenging for children, adults can also experience this condition.

It’s important to note that people with atopic dermatitis are at increased risk of developing allergies, such as food sensitivities, hay fever, and asthma. Despite its prevalence, eczema remains stigmatized, often leading to misunderstandings and discrimination.

According to recent studies, approximately 10% of the South African population is affected by eczema. Join us in raising awareness and supporting those on their journey to improved quality of life. Help us spread the word, because together, we can make a difference! 💓

12/08/2024

August is Women’s Month in South Africa, a time to celebrate the achievements of women and advocate for gender equality. However, it is also a stark reminder of the pervasive issue of sexual assault in our country.

The statistics are harrowing. South Africa has one of the highest rates of sexual violence in the world. Every day, countless women and girls experience the trauma of sexual assault. This crisis not only robs victims of their dignity and safety but also has far-reaching consequences for individuals, families, and communities.

It is imperative that we break the silence surrounding sexual assault. For too long, victims have been shamed, blamed, and discouraged from coming forward. We must create a society where survivors feel empowered to report these crimes without fear of judgment or retaliation.

This Women’s Month, let us recommit ourselves to challenging harmful gender norms and stereotypes. Let us support survivors, advocate for stricter laws, and demand increased investment in prevention and support services.

Your voice matters. Whether you are a survivor, an ally, or simply a concerned citizen, you have the power to make a difference. Let us stand united against sexual assault and create a future where all women and girls can live free from fear. ✊🏻

This May, let’s not just acknowledge mental health, but celebrate it! We all have mental health, just like physical health, and taking care of it is crucial. ✨

Think about the incredible strength it takes to navigate life’s challenges. We’re resilient, we’re resourceful, and we’re capable of overcoming so much.

This month, let’s pledge to:

🔹Open up conversations: Talking about mental health breaks down stigma and creates supportive spaces. You never know who might be struggling in silence. ️

🔹Prioritize self-care: It’s not selfish, it’s essential! Whether it’s spending time in nature, connecting with loved ones, or pursuing a creative outlet, find what nourishes your soul.

🔹Seek help if needed: There’s no shame in reaching out for support. South Africa has amazing resources available, like SADAG or the South African Federation for Mental Health. You are not alone.

Remember, you are worthy. You are strong. You are capable of incredible things. Let’s celebrate mental well-being together this May!🌸

TAF food drive is this November, which is tasked with helping poverty-stricken South Africans with nutritious meals and food security.

Our aim is a hunger-free country, ensuring every elderly person and child can go to bed with a full tummy.
