The Sunni African Ulama Council (SAUC) was honoured to accept an invitation from Isigungu Sezinsizwa to participate in the 2nd Annual Siyabadodisa Seminar in kwaMashu, presented in partnership with the KwaMashu Youth Crime Prevention Desk and supported by community stakeholders, including SAPS.

The seminar brought together male learners from nine high schools under the theme: “Shaping Tomorrow Together, Today.”

Representing SAUC, we shared a message on spirituality, purpose, self-discipline, and the struggle against the nafs (inner self). We reminded our youth that lasting crime prevention begins with building character, strengthening values, and transforming the heart. A young man who can discipline himself is better equipped to make choices that benefit his family, his community, and his future.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Isigungu Sezinsizwa for the invitation and commend all the organisers, the KwaMashu Youth Crime Prevention Desk, SAPS, educators, and community leaders for investing in the next generation.

May Allah bless every sincere effort to raise young men of integrity, responsibility, and purpose.

Key Message to the Public:

“Our diversity should be our strength, not our weakness. By replacing hatred with understanding, prejudice with knowledge, and violence with justice, we can build a peaceful South Africa where every person is treated with dignity and respect, as taught by Islam and upheld by our Constitution.”

COMMUNITY SAFETY AWARENESS – KWA-MASHU

In light of the current situation in South Africa, we stand alongside all community safety structures in Kwa-Mashu to promote peace, law, and public safety.

As people of da’wah, we believe that serving our community extends beyond the masjid. It means being aware of the affairs of our local community, building positive relationships, and working together to protect lives, places of worship, homes, businesses, and the future of our children.

Our participation in these community safety initiatives is also to ensure that our local Muslim community and our masaajid remain safe and protected. Strong relationships with community leaders and safety structures are essential in preserving peace and responding effectively during times of uncertainty.

Together with:
• South African Police Services
• Community Police Forum
• Spiritual Crime Prevention
• Taxi Associations
• Ibutho likangingilokothe
• Community Safety Structures
• Business Leaders
• Neighbourhood Watch
• Youth Crime Prevention
• Community Members

Our message is clear:
❌ No violence.
❌ No looting.
❌ No destruction of property.

Let us remain united, vigilant, and committed to the well-being of every member of our community. May Allah protect our country, safeguard our communities, and keep our places of worship secure.

Kwa-Mashu stands for peace, unity, safety, and responsible community partnership.
