Celebrating our nurses all May long 💝

We begin with Workers Day on 1 May, a time to honour every member of our dedicated team who serves with compassion and excellence. And on 12 May, we celebrate International Nurses Day, recognising the heart, skill, and sacrifice of our incredible nursing staff. We are celebrating the love, care, and professionalism our nurses and caregivers show, day in and day out — cannot be contained to a single day on the calendar.

A month of gratitude🍃
From our frail care units to assisted living, from medication rounds to quiet moments of comfort, our nurses are the gentle hands and brave hearts behind every resident’s wellbeing. They show up in the early morning hours. They stay late after a long shift. They hold a hand, share a smile, and bring dignity to every interaction.

This May, we invite residents, families, and our extended Nazareth House community to help us say thank you.

📣 IT'S ALMOST TIME!!

Registration opens Friday at the Durban Undersea Club from 16h00 - 18h00.
Weekend registration times:
▪️ Saturday, 23 May from 05h30 - 11h00
▪️ Sunday, 24 May from 05h30 - 11h00

🐳 We are accepting late entries on both days for our 1-mile swim. You will need to cover your entry fee R200, R800 fundraising & R30 late entry. 100% of your fundraising goes to our 10 invitational charities.

🏖️ We're thrilled to use the fantastic facilities at Durban Undersea Club again this year. Enjoy hot showers, clean ablutions, coffee & bar facilities, delicious food at affordable prices & live music after each day's events. CARDS ONLY!

🏊‍♀️ Jane from Swim Elite will have her pop-up shop on the beach if you need any kit or last-minute items.

🚗 Parking is available outside the club, grass area & extra parking at Ushaka B.

🌊 Our CEO, Henco Walker, has spent the last year focused on health, balance, and leading by example — and now he’s taking it to the next level with the 4-Mile Charity Swim 💪

Henco has raised over R23,000 – more than double his original R10,000 target 🙌 He is sitting proudly at the top of the 4-mile leaderboard, already exceeding previous fundraising efforts!

With 3 days to go, our sights are still firmly set on the next milestone:
👉 R30,000

And in true Nazareth Care spirit – this is about people, purpose, and impact. Every rand goes towards making a difference in lives across the country.
