Ever catch yourself thinking, "I'm hopeless," "I'll never be good enough," or "I should have done better"?

That isn't who you are. That’s your Inner Critic – a personification of flawed beliefs, unreasonable imperatives ("should," "must," "never"), and cognitive distortions.

When left unchecked, this negative self-talk damages your self-worth. But you can disempower it by externalising that voice and putting its statements "on trial":

1. Separate the Voice: Realise the inner critic is separate from your rational self.
2. Weigh the Evidence: Ask yourself, "What actual proof is there for and against this thought?"
3. Expose the Distortion: Spot absolute words like "always" or "never".
4. Apply a Rebuttal: Replace the deceitful statement with a rational, nurturing affirmation.
