HOPE Cape Town Trust & Association are not working in a bubble but are every day confronted with the realities of a shifting world. To sustain future and to be less dependent on ad-hoc donations, both entities together with the German HOPE Kapstadt Stiftung and the Kuratorium der HOPE Gala in Dresden signed an MOU committing to a framework and a joined path forward, which should make HOPE Cape Town’s basic operations in South Africa self-sustained until 2030. Under the guidance of a professional strategist of a major German company and drawing in further experts at times, a working group was established, which will coordinate all steps on the way.
The signing took place at the Ball of HOPE 2026, celebrated under the theme of The Power of Partnerships and in celebration of the first 25 years of the organisation.

Looking back at the impact of the Lego Serious Play workshops facilitated by Ronny Stärker and Annika Bruhn from B*W International for learners and teachers at Roosendal high school.

These workshops demonstrated how educators can apply the LEGO Serious Play methodology to strengthen a positive classroom community and support ongoing classroom activities. The training equipped teachers with practical tools to foster engagement, collaboration, and meaningful participation among learners.

Through hands-on activities, learners developed essential skills such as teamwork, mutual respect, trust, and an understanding of shared classroom values. The sessions promoted open communication, goal setting, and creative thinking in an inclusive learning environment. The enthusiasm and expressive engagement of the learners during the activities were remarkable, and it was clear that the experience was both meaningful and enjoyable for everyone involved.

It was about partnerships.
And above all, it was about hope.
