"We aren't saying Cyril Ramaphosa, Jacob Zuma, Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela must not be rich but we are saying the cause of the youth of 76 has benefitted them, their circles and families whilst remained a betrayal to the families of those of 76, current generation and our country instead of a black government being a beacon of transformation, hope and progress for the country," breathes our ED Asavela Peko on the 50th commemoration of the 16 June 1976 SOWETO Uprising.

The South African Government should be ashamed that after 32 years we are regressing than being progressive, and our country is in shambles.

A "liberation movement" named to be MyANC should be proud that the purpose of it's principals have ruined the gains of democracy whose foundation was laid in the bloodshed of our people who some now we are saying to be commemorating a 50th of their loss of lives.

In March this year, I (Masebe Maqina) had the privilege of interviewing Dr Xanti Pupuma for edition 1467 of Soccer Laduma.

We spoke about many things, including the challenge of balancing his roles as chairman, coach and medical professional at Milford FC.

One question I asked stood out:

"Coming from Ngqamakwe, like Mr Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi, could we see two chairmen of top-flight clubs from the same area in the near future?"

His response:

"Yes, it's possible. We are both from Ngqamakhwe, just different locations. He is from Mpukane, and I come from Nomaheya. Hopefully, if we get promotion, we will have two teams from that area in the topflight. Maybe we can even organise a match there one day."

Fast forward a few weeks later, and Milford FC are leading the PSL Promotion Play-offs with two matches remaining.

Football has a funny way of turning dreams into possibilities.

The journey isn't complete yet, but Dr Pupuma and Milford are now with a real chance of making that conversation a reality.
