📢 PRELIMINARY LIST RELEASED – BASIC SEWING TRAINING

Asavela Peko Foundation is pleased to announce that the preliminary list of applicants selected for the Basic Sewing Training is on the list attached here.

Applicants are encouraged to come review the list to confirm whether their names appear and to ensure that their details are correct. Please note that this is a preliminary list and may be subject to verification and final registration.

The registration will be undertaken as follows:

Venue: 28490 Carnation Way, N2gateway, Delft South, 7100 (APF Office)
Date: Monday, 8 June 2026
Time: 10h00 am - 13h00 pm

What to bring for registration:

1.ID Copy (Clear)
2.R30 Administration Fee
3.Black Pen

Note: If you are using Uber/Bolt/InDrive the address will drop you outside our office, and if you are using Taxi/Bus get off at Silulo Ulutho Technologies in Delft Main Road (At all times let us know that you are coming on WhatsApp at 060 718 9361 & 069 493 7901).

On Thursday, 11 June 2026 we will be registering people on vacant spaces, and 5 people that will be on "Standby" for the training.

Successful applicants will be added to a WhatsApp Group on Saturday, 13 June 2026 where all the finer details e.g. logistics, refreshments, coordination etc. will be discussed.

We are delighted to share that the director, Asavela Peko of Asavela Peko Foundation documentary, "Rising Through the Pain" will be broadcasted live on television - Cape Town TV on multiple occasions allowing all of us to catch the story, and get to understand more closer his pathway thus far into his life dissecting the compelling message and growing impact.

Rising through the pain explores resilience, recovery and personal transformation through a powerful real-life story.

During the broadcast, viewers will gain exclusive insights into the what sharpened such a young dynamite, the motivation behind the intentions of good deeds and uncover the role in which he continues to play in other's lives over the years.

📺 Be sure not to miss out on this documentary and gain some invaluable lessons, and insights on this thought-provoking production by Inqwelo Cinema PTY LTD aired by Cape Town TV on the life and times of a living son of the African Soil.

Here what we found out about the so-called " Orlando Pirates Football Club Legend" here on Facebook 🤣🤣🤣.

That "Legend" nowadays talks a lot but failed to live up to expectations during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa but we are not there, but calling for former players to support the national representative players, technical team and country without judgement and jealousy.

Coach Hugo Broos before President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister Gayton Mckenzie and the whole country has announced the Bafana Bafana final 26 Man Squad to represent South Africa for the FIFA World Cup in US, Mexico and Canada.

The squad is dominated by both the Betway premiership Champions Orlando Pirates Football Club and TotalEnergies CAF Champions League & Confederation Cup Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC with 8 players each side.

Only 1 player from Kaizer Chiefs, Siwelele Football Club, Burnley Football Club, Hanover 96 and other clubs.

On the same note there are multiple players that have been left out of the squad which was not an easy task for the coach, and the technical team especially leaving behind Brandon Petersen over Ricardo Goss.

Nevertheless, we are proud of all the players on the preliminary squad, those who helped us qualify and the 26 final squad who will represent us.

LILITHA INNOVATIVE ECOSYSTEM: 5 DAYS BASIC SEWING TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR NEET - YOUTH AND WOMEN IN CAPE TOWN!

Are you interested in learning sewing skills and starting a journey toward self-employment or fashion design? Join our 5 days Basic Sewing Training designed especially for youth and women who are Not in Employment, Education and Training (NEET) situated in Cape Town.

The Asavela Peko Foundation is once again in collaboration with the Technology Station Clothing and Textiles and powered by the Technology Innovation Agency to create this meaningful and life changing opportunity for the most vulnerable and needy people from our surrounding communities regardless of race, culture, gender and circumstances.

✨What will be learnt on the training:

1. Introduction to industrial sewing and overlock machines
2. Basic stitching techniques
3. Measuring and cutting fabric
4. Making simple garments and alterations
5. Clothing repairs and finishing skills
6. Beginner fashion and design basics

👩🏽‍🏫 Who can apply?

a). Youth and women aged 18+
b). Beginners with little or no sewing experience (People who have done the training before will not be considered).
c). Individuals interested in skills development and entrepreneurship.

🎓Means of verification:

Certificate of successful participation will be provided upon completion of the 5 days.

Congratulations to Orlando Pirates Football Club for winning the Betway premiership.

This therefore, means Pirates have won a Treble having earlier on the season won both the MTN South Africa 8 and Carling Black Label Cup.

This comes after the Orlando Pirates Football Club DSTV Diski Challenge Team won the league a week or so ago.

As it would be noted, ☠️☠️☠️ have clamped done the dominance of years by Mamelodi Sundowns FC on the domestic football, which brought so much desired competition 🔥❤️👌🏽.

Kaizer Chiefs is reeling in pain having returned today from their focus in Africa hence they did not compete for the league and only played their game against Chippa United Football Club earlier today.

Once again, Congratulations to Orlando Pirates Football Club this is your time to shine, and hopefully this draws more competition and help the standard of our league improve 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽.
