Many survivors live with long-term emotional and psychological scars, while children growing up around violence face trauma that can follow them for life. Economic abuse, control, fear, and isolation all deepen the cycle.

But no survivor should ever feel alone.
No one should have to carry the weight of trauma in silence.

💛 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 — 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿

For too many women in South Africa, the place that should offer comfort and protection is the very place where violence occurs.
Behind closed doors, countless acts of abuse go unseen and unheard — and far too many go unreported.

Recent statistics remind us of the gravity of this crisis: 106 women were murdered in their homes in just three months, with many more assaulted.
These are not isolated incidents.
They are a national emergency.

GBV is not a “private matter”.
It is a societal issue that affects families, communities, and generations to come. Silence only protects the abuser, never the survivor.
