🚨 WARNING TO MOTORISTS IN NORTH WEST 🚨

HIJACKINGS ON THE RISE AS WE APPROACH THE FESTIVE SEASON⛔️

Motorists travelling across major routes in the North West Province including the N14, N4, R510, R503, R53 and R52 are urged to be extremely vigilant.
Recent reports indicate that hijackers are targeting drivers between Ventersdorp, Coligny, Lichtenburg,Koster and Rustenburg often pretending to be stranded motorists or even posing as officials to lure victims.

Authorities have confirmed multiple incidents in the past few days, with suspects using different tactics to force drivers to stop. We urge everyone on the road to stay alert and prioritise safety at all times.

HERE ARE SAFETY TIPS TO AVOID BEING HIJACKED:

✔️ Stay alert at all times
✔️ Drive to the nearest police station if you feel unsafe
✔️ Avoid stopping in isolated or dark areas
✔️ Watch for suspicious vehicles following you
✔️ Lock your doors, close windows, hide valuables
✔️ Avoid using your phone while driving
✔️ Time traffic lights to avoid unnecessary night stops
✔️ Leave enough space between cars to escape if needed
✔️ Avoid driving alone late at night
✔️ Never pick up strangers
✔️ Change your routes regularly
✔️ If someone bumps you, drive to a public place or police station
