This is the official page of the South African Colliery Environmental Safety Health Association, a forum to discuss legal matters, technical innovations, and practical application of HSE protocols within the coal mining industry. Formerly known as SACEPA, the Association was founded in 2001 following the need identified by the South African Coal Managers Association for HSE practitioners

to network and share knowledge and information as well as address HSE matters of common interest. The objectives of the Association are to obtain, debate and formulate comments, action and general reports on all new technology, projects, legislation as well as regular review of current issues on all aspects relating to environmental engineering, occupational hygiene and environmental management affecting the coal mining industry. By establishing a colliery networking forum where the practical aspects and implications of legal requirements can be debated, SACESHA through its members shape the way collieries in South Africa view and handle matters pertaining to HSE in South Africa.
