International Youth Day reminds us that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow. They are shaping today.
Their ideas, determination and willingness to learn are building stronger communities, driving innovation and creating new possibilities for the future.
Today, we celebrate the young people we have the privilege to work alongside, who continue to show us what's possible when they're given the opportunity to learn, lead and make a difference.

When young people have access to information, possibilities start to feel within reach.
During a recent engagement with Ignite young people in Phuthaditjhaba, Rockwell Automation, Inc. opened up the world of engineering, giving learners practical insight into different fields, subject choices, study options, bursaries and the opportunities available beyond school.
The session also introduced learners to women making their mark across the engineering field and the possibilities that exist for those considering a future in STEM.
Thank you to Rockwell for creating space for these important career conversations and helping our young people see what’s possible.
Because sometimes, igniting a future starts with access to the right information.

Today, we celebrate you.

Crowned in Ability

On 31 July, as we marked the close of Disability Pride Month, Afrika Tikkun proudly hosted the second annual Beauty in Ability pageant under this year's theme, Crowned in Ability.

The day celebrated twenty remarkable young people from our Centres of Excellence while challenging one of the biggest misconceptions about intellectual disability: that it defines what a person is capable of achieving.

Congratulations to our 2026 Disability Inclusion Ambassadors:

πŸ‘‘ Mr Ability: Yanga Gongwana
πŸ‘‘ Miss Ability: Nonhlanhla Nxasana
πŸ‘‘ Prince: Njabulo Vincent Mthembu
πŸ‘‘ Princess: Ayanda Mncube

To every contestant, thank you for inspiring us with your courage and confidence. Your stories continue to challenge perceptions and remind us why disability inclusion matters.

Thank you to our families, partners, judges and supporters for helping make this celebration possible. Your continued support helps create opportunities for young people to grow in confidence, embrace their potential and be celebrated for who they are.

The best partnerships are built through shared experiences.
It was a pleasure to welcome the Little Fish team to our Mfuleni and Arekopaneng Centres, where they spent the day getting to know our children and young people and experiencing the work that happens across our programmes.
From supporting Bambanani classroom activities and sharing career insights to exploring our technology and sustainability initiatives, every moment was an opportunity to learn, connect and make a difference.
Thank you, Little Fish, for choosing to spend your time with us and for investing in the potential of our children and young people.

The Capitec team recently spent time at our Mfuleni Centre, experiencing the Bambanani Programme firsthand through classroom activities, marimba, health and fitness sessions, and by working alongside our team in the kitchen.

As a strategic partner of the Bambanani Programme, the visit provided an opportunity to engage with the programme beyond the partnership, offering a closer look at the nurturing, learning and development that shape a child's earliest years.

Thank you, Capitec, for your continued commitment to the Bambanani Programme and for investing in the children, educators and experiences that help give every child the best possible start.
