The South African Colliery Managers’ Association Since 1979 the Association has valued its members involvement and has demonstrated inspirational leadership throughout the coal mining industry.

This is the official page of the South African Colliery Managers’ Association, a forum for colliery mine managers to share knowledge, network, and discuss best practice within the coal mining industry. SACMA is an organisation of Colliery Mining Managers, representing 8 Mining Houses and some smaller operators with 43 Mine operations in 4 provinces. The accountabilities of the organizatio

n are to Ensure knowledge transfer of Coal Industry practices between current and future members, Provide structure for networking between members and affiliates with major stakeholders. SACMA wants to ensure sharing of best practices to add value to the member and business while providing the vehicle that is the mechanism for social interaction between members. SACMA is also recognized through the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Voluntary Association which provides some influence in terms of the accreditation of learning materials and institutions, as well as strengthening the Association’s role with regard to registration matters.

Leadership isn’t just a title - it’s a legacy built through collaboration, courage, and vision. This September, 𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗠𝗔 invites all members to 𝗦𝘂𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝟭𝟭–𝟭𝟯 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿) for a weekend that celebrates the people, principles, and strength of our industry.

On Friday, members will arrive and check in at the Cascades, Sun City Hotel, and Cabanas before joining the 𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗠𝗔 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 in semi‑formal attire. The evening unfolds with the vibrant 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆, filled with entertainment, memorable moments, and meaningful connection with colleagues, friends, and families.

Saturday brings a full day of networking and camaraderie, from golf at the Gary Player course to padel at the Sun City courts. The evening concludes with the Elegant Gala Dinner - a black‑tie celebration featuring an inspiring speaker, entertainment, and unforgettable social experiences. 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘋𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴‑𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺.

On Sunday, we close with breakfast and farewells as members depart, carrying forward the spirit of collaboration and vision that defines 𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗠𝗔.
