Yesterday the team at CCFm 107.5/96.7 did their site visit at Morgenson Primary School in Hanover Park, in preparation for Social Development Projects and partner's 6th Pitch For Peace Launch!

These are 5-a-side soccer pitches that we are actively building across the Cape Flats, with a vision to kick-off an interschools league connecting the pitches and their respective communities.

📣Speaker Announcement: James Fernie & Thulani Nxumalo

What happens when tourism, place-making and community leadership come together to create meaningful impact?

James Fernie, Founder and Director of Uthando (Love) South Africa, brings more than two decades of experience connecting responsible and regenerative tourism with community-led development across Cape Town.

Joining James is Thulani Nxumalo, a Langa-based community storyteller, tour guide, photographer and development practitioner whose work is deeply rooted in community, culture and place. He is also a Director of Langa Community TV and Secretary of the Inspire Development Centre.

Together with Henry Mathys from the V&A Waterfront, they’ll take part in Dialogue 2: Community-Rooted Innovation, Regenerative Tourism and Place-Based Impact – exploring how placemaking, regenerative tourism and community-rooted action can strengthen dignity, local opportunity and meaningful impact.

And the conversation doesn’t end at the conference.

On Saturday, 24 October, James and Uthando will host the Uthando Community & Cultural Impact Tour – an immersive experience connecting visitors with local entrepreneurs, community leaders and projects creating meaningful change through Uthando’s Waste to Wonder Campaign, recently nominated for an Earthshot Prize. 🌍
