Protecting our children starts with awareness, education, and open conversations.
As part of our lead-up to Child Protection Week, we visited our preschools and local high school with important age-appropriate awareness programmes aimed at empowering children and young people to recognise unsafe situations and know where to seek help.
At our preschools, two talented actresses brought the story of Parmant to life, teaching our little ones an important message: “It’s my body, and I can say NO, NO, NO.” Through storytelling and interactive learning, children were encouraged to understand personal boundaries and body safety in a way they could relate to and remember.
At the local high school, learners engaged with a powerful performance addressing the realities of cyberbullying, bullying, and su***de. These difficult but important topics opened the door for meaningful discussions around mental health, respect, and seeking support.
Following the performances, we returned to the school to distribute information and ensure learners knew where they could turn for help, guidance, and support when facing challenges.
Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and protected. Creating safe communities is not the responsibility of one person or organisation—it requires all of us to play our part.
As we observe Child Protection Week, let us continue working together to protect, support, and empower the children in our communities.
