EAPASA will host a Board Induction Programme at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) offices on 17 June 2026. The programme is designed to equip Board members with the knowledge, tools, and strategic insights required to effectively fulfil their governance responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the organisation.

As part of the induction, newly elected Board members will receive an address from Ms Vanessa Bendeman, Deputy Director-General: Regulatory Compliance and Sector Monitoring at the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE). Ms Bendeman will share words of encouragement, guidance, and wisdom as the Board embarks on its new term of service.

The new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the EAPASA Board will also be officially elected during this gathering. Am sure we are all eagerly waiting for this announcement.

EAPASA extends its sincere appreciation to the DBSA for hosting this important engagement and for its valued partnership in supporting professional and institutional development within the environmental sector.

We wish all Board members success as they assume their new roles and responsibilities. Their leadership will play a vital role in shaping the future of EAPASA and advancing excellence in environmental assessment practice.

We look forward to a new era of leadership, collaboration, and strategic growth for EAPASA.

This * (June 15 - 21)*, EAPASA is proud to celebrate the incredible, essential creatures that sustain our planet’s ecosystems.

This year’s official theme—*“Life on a Leaf: Celebrating Caterpillars and Host Plants”*—reminds us that protecting pollinators means protecting their entire life cycle. From the host plants that feed caterpillars to the blooming flowers that sustain mature butterflies and bees, healthy habitats are vital to biodiversity and global food security.

Here are three ways you can protect them this week:

🌱 *Plant Native Host Plants*: Grow the specific local flora that supports vulnerable pollinator larvae.
🚫 *Eliminate Synthetic Pesticides*: Protect beneficial insects throughout every stage of their development.
🦋 *Preserve Habitats*: Leave natural green spaces undisturbed to give emerging species a safe place to thrive.

🌊 World Oceans Day 2026 🌊

Today, we join the global community in celebrating World Oceans Day — a powerful reminder that our oceans are the lifeblood of our planet. They sustain biodiversity, regulate our climate, support livelihoods, and inspire generations around the world.

Yet, these vital ecosystems continue to face increasing pressures from pollution, overfishing, habitat degradation, and climate change. Protecting our oceans is a shared responsibility that requires collective action from governments, industries, communities, and individuals alike.

As we mark this important day, let us reaffirm our commitment to conserving and restoring our marine environments, ensuring healthy and resilient oceans for current and future generations.

Together, we can make a difference. 💙🌍
