Dove's Nest - Place of Safety

Dove's Nest - Place of Safety Dove’s Nest is a Place of Safety based in Centurion and is registered as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO 031-725).

Mrs Isilda Felix was successfully screened by Child Welfare Tshwane and is registered at the Department of Social Development as a Temporary Safe Care Parent. She has been rendering this service in the community for many years (since 2001). Our mission is to welcome babies or children in need of care and protection to our home once they have been legally placed by social worker’s with court orders

pending the Children’s Court Investigations or the adoptability investigations. We provide a safe and caring residential facility for children who are placed in our care. Babies and children are placed at Dove’s Nest for various reasons, each case and child is unique. We try to fulfil all their needs until their investigations are complete and they move to their forever families/homes or until they are able to support themselves and are independent. The first baby was placed in our Temporary Safe Care “our Dove’s Nest” in 2001 and since we have had many babies and success stories. Dove’s Nest was their very 1st home where they were cared for, loved and nurtured until the social workers were able to declare them legally adoptable and placed them with successfully screened adoptive parents and forever families. Many families stay in contact after the adoption. We are a Place of Safety or like a surrogate family for children in need of care and protection in crisis situations. We believe that we have the responsibility to take care of children for our nation as today’s children are tomorrow’s adults!

💛 A Safe Place to Call Home

At Dove’s Nest, we provide a safe and loving environment for children who have experienced very difficult circumstances.

Our goal is to give every child in our care stability, support, and the opportunity to grow in a nurturing home environment.

None of this would be possible without the kindness and generosity of our community.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Dove’s Nest and help us make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

If you would like to get involved or support our home, please feel free to send us a message.

💛 Together we can change lives.

Love is more than words. It is shown through care, protection and commitment. ❤️

At Dove’s Nest, love means creating a safe place for children who have experienced loss, neglect or trauma.

This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate the many forms of love that build families through fostering, adoption and community support. 🤍

Thank you for being part of our children’s story. 🌟

A new school year brings excitement, nerves and fresh beginnings. 🎒📚

For many of the children at Dove’s Nest, starting school is about more than books and classrooms. It is about stability, belonging and believing in themselves again.

Because of your support, our children can begin the school year feeling prepared and confident. 🤍

If you would like to assist with stationery, school shoes or school bags, please contact us. Every contribution helps a child step forward with dignity and hope. 🌟

Do you find these images disturbing? WE DO!
And that is why we are fighting to save little lives!! You can fight too.
GDSD gazetted a proposed amendment to the Children's Act, this despite our objections to the same thing a couple of months ago. The proposed amendment states that the use of a baby box is considered abandonment which is a criminal offense. The public has an opportunity to oppose the amendment by 25 October. 3500 babies are abandoned unsafely in SA and for every baby found alive, 2 are found dead. A baby saver is a safe alternative to unsafe baby abandonment and is used in many countries across the globe. You can oppose this amendment, click on this link - https://share.google/lNL0OlRS1arWipM3v
email your objection to the email address on the link - "I object to the proposed amendment to the definition of abandonment in section 1(a) of the Children's Amendment Bill in that it proposes to include a child relinquished in a baby box. This is a form of safe relinquishment and should not be defined as abandonment as it safeguards the child's right to life".

Every child has the right to life!
