FACT FRIDAY | Got an interview coming up? :👀

Heita, chommie! Have you ever been asked a question in an interview and your mind just went blank? Do you freeze when an interviewer asks, “Tell me about a time you worked in a team?” 😅

Here’s a tip that can help you answer with more confidence: Use the STAR method! ⭐
⭐ S – Situation: My school group had to prepare a presentation, but we were struggling to finish on time.
⭐ T – Task: We needed to organise our work and make sure everyone contributed.
⭐ A – Action: I helped divide the tasks, checked in with my group members and made sure we finished our parts.
⭐ R – Result: We completed the presentation on time, and I learnt how important communication and teamwork are.

See how that works? You’ve just shown teamwork, problem-solving and responsibility without needing formal work experience!

Ever looked at a job application and thought, "I don't have enough experience"?
Plot twist: you might have more skills than you actually think! 👀💡

Skills don’t only come from school or formal 9-5 work. You learn and build them everyday by helping at home, playing sport, volunteering, side hustles, hobbies or even organising things with your friends. 💪🏾

As you search for your next job, take a moment to ask yourself: "What am I really good at?' Or ' what do my friends and family say I am good at?" 🤔

We talked with some of our friends to find out the most useful skills they've learnt from the people around them.
