The Cape Town Ulama Board (CTUB) firmly declares its unwavering support and solidarity with our esteemed Executive Member, Shaykh Sayed Ridhwaan, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), and all co-respondents currently defending their constitutional rights in the Western Cape High Court.

The Cape Town Ulama Board explicitly rejects any form of corporate legal intimidation aimed at silencing civil society. Advocacy for justice, the defense of human dignity, and the constitutional right to call for consumer boycotts are foundational pillars of a free and democratic South Africa; rights that cannot be compromised or corporate-shielded from public accountability.

Demonstrating our complete commitment to this cause, the leadership and President of the Cape Town Ulama Board were physically present at the opening session of the High Court. The CTUB leadership will remain standing by at court for the next three days, side-by-side with our fellow respondents, activists, and community members.

​We stand firm against the criminalization of dissent. We stand for the right to speak out. We stand for Palestine, and we stand for humanity.

We, the Cape Town Ulama Board (CTUB), declares our total support for the public protests called by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) outside the Western Cape High Court, starting Monday, 15 June.

​This high-stakes legal battle follows a court application launched by Cape Union Mart executive chairman Philip Krawitz against grassroots activists. This litigation directly targets the PSC alongside our own executive member, Shaykh Sayed Ridhwaan Mohamed.

​We fully back the PSC's call for all justice-loving citizens, human rights activists, religious leadership, and the broader Cape Town community to mobilize, show up. Let us send a clear message: Justice cannot be sued into silence!
