Comunitatea romanilor din Western Cape, Eastern Cape si Northern Cape reuneste toate vocilor romanilor din Africa de Sud care doresc sa se faca auziti in cadrul unei comunitati romanesti! Va invitam sa va alaturati. Scopul este de a facilita comunicarea intre romanii din Cape Town si imprejurimi si de a usura publicarea informatiilor de interes pentru cei aflati pe teritoriul sud-african. Sugestii

le dvs sunt binevenite. Va rugam sa ne trimiteti propunerile dvs, idei de evenimente sau chiar informatii despre anumite evenimente, pentru a putea fi impartasite cu toti cei care suntem departe de Romania. Datele dvs de contact transmise prin mesaj privat sunt mai mult decat binevenite, pentru a putea facilita comunicarea.

Chiar dacă suntem departe de casă, sufletul rămâne legat de tradiții, de primăvara de acolo și de toți cei dragi 💛

Dear friends,

With great sadness, we say goodbye to Geza Steingaszner, who passed away in Cape Town, surrounded by his family.

Geza was one of those rare people—quiet, yet essential, deeply passionate about human values, art, and culture. Although life took him far from Romania, he always carried his roots with dignity and remained deeply connected to our community.

He brought joy through music, brought people together through his passion for wine, and together with his beautiful wife, Ghenwa, he was part of the soul of many of our community’s most cherished moments. Many of the events we built together—especially our National Day celebrations—would not have been the same without their presence and support.

The Romanian community in South Africa, especially in the Western Cape, stands with this deeply grieving family.

We will remain grateful to Geza for everything he gave, with such discretion and nobility.

He will never be forgotten.

May he rest in peace.

🌍 Francophonie Festival 2026 – Cape Town 🇷🇴🇫🇷🇧🇪

What a truly special day for the Romanian community in the Western Cape!

This year’s Francophonie Food & Culture Festival, hosted at the Residence of the Belgian Ambassador and organised together with French-speaking consulates, welcomed over 4,500 visitors — making it the biggest edition yet.

We are incredibly proud of how beautifully Romania was represented.

✨ From a vibrant performance blending modern rhythms with Romanian music
🍽️ to sharing traditional Romanian dishes that were enjoyed by so many

It was a joy to see our culture come alive and be embraced by such a diverse audience.

A heartfelt thank you to Dante for her incredible dedication and energy this year. Together with Colette, they created a fantastic Zumba fitness moment on Romanian rhythms — a joyful and unforgettable experience that brought people together through music and movement.

Moments like these remind us how powerful community is — and how proud we are to share our culture here in Cape Town.

With gratitude to everyone who contributed, supported, and showed up — and a special appreciation to our partner Cape Diplomatic for their continued support in bringing the Western Cape communities together and helping us show up at our very best. 🇷🇴❤️

🇷🇴🚴‍♀️ Români pe două roți în Cape Town! / Romanians riding strong in Cape Town!

Felicitări Mihaelei Sandu, membră a comunității românești din Cape Town, care a participat și a finalizat cu succes Cape Town Cycle Tour 2026, desfășurat duminică, unul dintre cele mai frumoase și cunoscute evenimente de ciclism din lume.

Parcurgând traseul complet de 109 km în jurul Peninsulei Cape, Mihaela a obținut un timp excelent de 3:41:51, demonstrând determinare, energie și spirit sportiv.

Suntem mândri să vedem români reprezentând comunitatea noastră în astfel de evenimente sportive extraordinare și sărbătorind împreună pasiunea pentru mișcare și natură.

Congratulations to Mihaela Sandu, a proud member of the Romanian community in Cape Town, who successfully completed the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2026 this past Sunday.

Riding the full 109 km route around the Cape Peninsula, Mihaela achieved an impressive finish time of 3:41:51, joining thousands of cyclists in one of the world’s most iconic cycling events.

We are proud to see members of the Romanian community representing us with determination, energy, and passion for sport.

🇷🇴 The Romanian Community in Cape Town is proud to take part in this year’s Festival Francophonie – Food & Culture Fest.

This vibrant event celebrates the cultures of the Francophone world through music, dance, food, and cultural exchange, bringing together diplomats, artists, and international communities in Cape Town.

We are especially happy to contribute to the programme with “Morning Fitness on Romanian Rhythms” 🇷🇴, sharing a little bit of Romania’s energy and spirit with the wider community. The Romanian gastronomy will be again a hit this year, its a promise! 🇷🇴🌺

The Romanian community is grateful for the support of Cape Diplomatic, which helps create opportunities for communities like ours to promote our culture and be part of events that celebrate diversity, friendship, and cultural diplomacy in Cape Town.
