We stand together in solidarity with Ndifuna Ukwazi, we strongly reject this Bill, which seeks to criminalise landlessness in a country still grappling with the legacy of dispossession and spatial injustice.

The deadline for public submissions on the PIE Amendment Bill, 2026, is fast approaching and closes on Youth Day, 16 June

Join us on Monday 15 June as we stand together to oppose this harmful legislation and defend the right to adequate housing.

It is our collective responsibility to bring about positive change in our communities. Every one of us has a role to play in creating safe, nurturing, and supportive environments where children can grow, learn, and thrive. The safety and well-being of children cannot be left to parents, teachers, social workers, or community leaders alone—it requires the commitment and involvement of all members of society.

As we once believed, and still believe today, it takes a village to raise a child. This timeless principle reminds us that children are a shared responsibility and that their development is influenced by the people, values, and environments that surround them. When communities come together to support, guide, and protect children, we lay the foundation for a brighter and more hopeful future.

Let us continue to embrace and uphold the spirit of Ubuntu "I am because we are." Ubuntu teaches us that our humanity is connected to the humanity of others and that we have a duty to care for one another. By standing together, speaking out against abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation, and by promoting respect, kindness, and accountability, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The protection of one child is not only the protection of an individual; it is the protection of an entire generation. Every child who is safeguarded today becomes a stronger, healthier, and more empowered adult tomorrow. Investing in the safety and well-being of children is an investment in the future of our families, our communities, and our nation.

During Child Protection Week and beyond, let us renew our commitment to being vigilant, compassionate, and proactive. Let us listen to our children, support those who are vulnerable, and work together to create communities where every child feels safe, valued, and loved. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can be the village that every child deserves.

CHILD PROTECTION WEEK

Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving, and protected environment. During Child Protection Week, we stand together to raise awareness against child abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation.

Let us work together as parents, educators, community members, and leaders to protect the rights and dignity of every child. A safe child is a happy child. 💙

“Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility.”

The Africans have spoken: unity is possible, and in South Africa we can begin by giving meaningful recognition to Africa Day on the 25th of May. Africa Day reminds us that African unity is not just an idea of the past, but a vision for the future of our continent. It commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity in 1963, now the African Union, formed to advance liberation, solidarity, and cooperation across Africa.

Through the “Africa Day Now!” campaign led by Africa Unite, South Africans are calling for 25 May to become an official public holiday that promotes Pan-African unity, education, cultural pride, and social cohesion.

You can support and sign the campaign here:

Africa Day can become a powerful starting point for building unity among Africans in South Africa and across the continent, through culture, dialogue, education, and shared identity.

Africa is ours!

Africans have always shown that unity is possible. In South Africa, we can begin strengthening that unity by officially recognising Africa Day as a national holiday.

25 May is more than a date. It is a symbol of African liberation, solidarity, identity, and the shared future of our continent. It is a day to honour the struggles of our people, celebrate our cultures, and promote the vision of one united Africa.

We call on all South Africans and Africans across the continent to support this call and make Africa Day official in South Africa.

Sign the petition today, make it official:
