Today Site C, Khayelitsha felt like family

We served more than soup. We served dignity, smiles, and a reminder that no one is forgotten. Every bowl was a prayer. Every face we met was a reason to keep going.

Special Thank You, to Blue Ribbon, thank you for the bread donation today. Because of your generosity, no bowl went out without bread to go with it. You didn’t just donate loaves — you donated fullness, warmth, and care. Site C ate well because Blue Ribbon showed up. We’re deeply grateful for partners who see the need and meet it with excellence.

To every volunteer who stirred the pots, packed the bread, prayed with people, and stayed to sweep after — you are the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you.

To everyone who donated ingredients, fuel, time, and love — this happened because of you. We couldn’t do this without your giving hearts.

Site C, Khayelitsha, thank you for receiving us with open hearts today. You are seen. You are loved. You are not alone.

"We don’t just talk about community. We ladle it out" Until next time❤️

Appreciation message to Baphumelele Orphanage Home in Philippi

From all of us at MCMI My Crown My Identity

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Baphumelele Orphanage Home for the warm welcome you gave us today. Thank you for opening your doors and your hearts as we came to handover clothes donations. Your kindness and hospitality made us feel at home.

A special thank you to the MCMI team. Today you were more than volunteers — you were therapy to those kids. Through games, laughter, and shared moments, you helped take their minds off pain and distress, creating funny memories they won’t forget. That presence and joy matter more than we can say.

May the connections made today be the start of continued partnership and encouragement.

MCMI President Mrs. Ncapayi says thank you to everyone who made today possible.

THE KHAYELITSHA HERALD | COMMUNITY FOCUS | Wednesday, 15 April 2026

HEADLINE: MY CROWN MY IDENTITY: KHAYELITSHA PASTOR EMPOWERING GIRLS TO RECLAIM PURPOSE

SUBHEADING : From Bible study to netball courts, Mrs N.A. Ncapayi’s MCMI team builds confidence, faith, and community impact in Site C

KHAYELITSHA, SITE C — In the heart of Site C, a quiet revolution is taking place every week. It starts with a Bible verse, moves to a netball drill, and often ends with a poem or a play. The force behind it is My Crown My Identity (MCMI), a community-driven programme founded by local pastor and social activist Mrs N.A. Ncapayi.

“My Crown My Identity was born from a simple conviction,” says Ncapayi, who also shepherds a congregation in Khayelitsha. “Our girls were walking around with their heads down. I wanted them to lift their heads and remember: you wear a crown. Your identity is not your struggle. Your identity is your purpose in God.”

MORE THAN A MOTTO — A MOVEMENT

MCMI is a faith-based development initiative for young women aged 13 to 21 years. The programme’s core mission is to help girls discover their God-given identity and purpose through structured mentorship, practical tasks, and creative expression. Weekly gatherings in Site C combine:

1. BIBLE STUDIES AND LIFE-SKILLS TEACHING – grounding identity in faith and values
2. PURPOSEFUL TASKS AND PROJECTS – building responsibility and leadership
3. CREATIVE ARTS – including drama, acting, poetry, and cultural activities that give girls a voice
4. SPORT DEVELOPMENT – notably a netball programme that promotes discipline, teamwork, and physical health

“Our approach is holistic,” Ncapayi explains. “We minister to spirit, mind, and body. A girl who can quote Scripture, lead a project, perform a poem, and defend on the netball court is a girl who knows who she is.”

Excellence doesn’t happen by accident!

It happens because people like the ones on the pictures choose sacrifice, consistency, and integrity every time.

Thank you, MCMI team, for modeling what it means to serve hard and love well. Your leadership strengthens this project and this organization.

“...that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” — Romans 1:12.
