Happening Now: Financial Inclusion Week 2026 is now Live!

Our session, “What Happens When Risk-Based Supervision Moves from Theory to Practice?”, draws on experiences from supervisors who have participated in our Risk-based Supervision for Inclusive Digital Financial Services programme to examine how risk-based and proportionate approaches are being applied in practice.

Our esteemed speakers, Kauthar Conrad, Michael Eganza, Souraya Sbeih and June Ruhweza, shared how learning is shaping inspection approaches, supervisory decisions and the use of proportionality. They also discussed how leadership support and Communities of Practice can help supervisors apply new approaches and sustain change.

The session connects with this year’s theme, “Inclusive Innovation: Building Financial Systems that Work for Everyone,” by exploring how effective, proportionate supervision can help digital financial services grow responsibly and serve underserved communities.

The September edition of Further the Frontiers looks at the exciting Animation Studio Accelerator Programme, supported by the Government of Japan, in partnership with Digital Frontiers and the Triggerfish Foundation, and on behalf of the UNDP Timbuktoo Creatives Hub in Cape Town. This programme is designed to support growth-stage, founder-led African animation studios strengthen pathways to market, investment and sustainable growth.

AI can answer a participant’s question in seconds. Knowing when that participant needs a conversation with a facilitator takes a different kind of judgement.

That distinction sits at the heart of how we use AI at Digital Frontiers.

We see responsible AI as a way to strengthen human capability, not replace it. AI can help us reduce repetitive tasks, support course design, improve accessibility and give participants faster access to information. But the people behind our learning experiences remain essential.
