The 110th commemoration of the Battle for Delville Wood at the memorial in the Company's Garden Cape Town. Well supported by the DMV and SANDF as well as many Veterans Associations and Diplomatic Corps. Executive Deputy Mayor Alderman Eddie Andrews speech was incredibly moving and impactful. For the first time we had a Lipizzaner horse from Paarl pay respects to the animals that died in both world wars. Despite the inclement weather the service was a great success in remembrance. Lest we forget.

Attending the annual City of Cape Town's Safety and Security Remembrance Day service in the Civic Centre yesterday. An incredibly moving ceremony.

At the SS Mendi Cape Town, 2nd June, attaching the National Heritage Site Badge after the declaration some years ago by the South African Heritage Resource Agency (SAHRA). The Gunners' Association WP, the University of Cape Town and SAHRA formed an MOA that looks after the preservation of the site situated on Lower Campus, UCT. With me, attending were Briege Williams and Karyn Moshe from SAHRA and Deputy Vice Chancellor Elelwani Ramugondo, Gershon Manana and David Gibbs from UCT.

Wonderful day on the French Naval ship LHD Dixmude. Part of the Taskforce Jeanne d' Arc. Just an amazing ship with 650 crew, full hospital with theatres, Landing craft, helicopters and military vehicles. Attended by FOF Admiral Handsome Matsane, Admiral Jabu Mbotho and other senior SA Navy officers from Simonstown. And a memorable lunch in the ward room

Great evening at the annual Christmas Carols event at the British High Commissioners residence in Cape Town. Music led by Richard C**k with back up singing guests. Lots of fun.
